Can't say if this answers the question, but I found that assigning shoulder button functions to face buttons is much easier for both the system and the user; mashing Y for Grab attacks is noticeably more intuitive than mashing L, for instance.

"Tell them to shut up and have some faith in me." - dead flashback guyI'm guessing I'll end up hammering the all hats/all Smash Run powers once I get the Wii-U version, since I almost never play the one-player modes anymore so it's unlikely I'll actually get those. I should probably work on getting all the customs so I can try them out...
Maybe one of these days when I have the option to play against people who use customs. It's not that high on my priority list at the moment.
Back in the day, Melee had the official strategy guide that gave names to every move.
Every. Single. One.
Falcon's d-air? "Step on it"
Mario had a move called "the plunger" but I dunno if it was a smash or tilt.
... Now I wonder what the fandom would nickname each induvidual move. We've already got "hoo-hah" but that's a combo.

Moved handles because meh

I tired switching the controls around in the 3Ds version and yet I still have no idea of what is going on. Maybe the 3Ds I have is too small or maybe I just plain suck at the game but it seems that the 3DS is too small my huge hands. What is your control setup?
"Mai waifu."
