I am exceedingly fine with anything to make Lucina more than a discount Marth. And I'd also be pretty okay with Dark Pit being more varied to differentiate him.
And Doc is mostly fine as he is, I guess? He could use a bit more in terms of numbers to improve his viability as opposed to Mario, but at the very least he has electricity and the Tornado to set him apart from Mario proper.
Dr.Mario is the only clone who has no reason to be further differentiated...Dark Pit has no reason to have different weight and speed, but weapons and attacks he certainly does.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.
That actually doesn't sound like a bad idea.
King Dedede's and Pit's Final Smashes were changed because the 3DS couldn't handle the ones they had in Brawl, right?

Call me Willy Whistle 'cause I can't speak, baby. Something in TV Tropes really drove me crazy.Presumably Kirby's as well, yes.
"Tell them to shut up and have some faith in me." - dead flashback guyI got three Miis of each type. The Brawlers are Miiself and two made-up characters from my modern setting, the Swordsmen are from my fantasy setting and the Gunners are from my futuristic setting.
I haven't been using them much since Mewtwo came out, but you know how it goes. Busy with other things anyway.
Still haven't cracked open my new amiibos. I'm kind of hoping for an update before getting back to Smash again.
But the game still doesn't have Lucas, Miiverse or whoever they might include from the Smash ballot...how long can they keep updating it? Until the end of 2015?
You gotta believe me when I scare you away, all that I wish for is that you would stayThere's very little likelihood in them actually shipping out the ballot winner right before 2016, especially when it ends around November.
"Tell them to shut up and have some faith in me." - dead flashback guyMarth's already characterized by swift and fast strikes, so unless "Pichu With A Sword" is the idea, that would indeed be difficult to properly establish.

Re: Lucina, Doc, and Dark Pit in SSBV:
I think Sakurai's involvement in Uprising might keep Dark Pit around for the next game, and Lucina is a lord. Doc is different enough from Base Mario.
(plus, I'd rather give more niche series like FE, Kid Icarus, F-Zero, Earth Bound, DK, Metroid, Star Fox, Punch-Out!!, Xeno Blade, Sin and Punishment, Custom Robo, Chibi Robo, and Golden Sun either need more playable characters or need to have playable reps in Smash)
AAAAUUUUGGGHHHH!!!!Most likely, Lucina and Dark Pit will be cut from Smash 5. Robin will most certainly stay, as he (and Chrom, who is his Final Smash) are the more important protagonists of Awakening (and his moveset rules).
Dr. Mario can stay. He plays rather different from his parent character and works nicely as a quick roster expand option (and, well, he is the only veteran character to make it back after having been cut from a former game without needing to be DLC which in itself is interesting).
Fantastic Supreme Überkaiser Emperor Folt of The Infinity and Beyond" ... "The First"!Typically characters with unique movesets are the ones that stay unless there's technical difficulties (Ice Climbers) or copyright issues (Snake). The only exception is Mewtwo who was cut in Brawl but returned here.
Clones are pretty much fodded. Pichu, Roy and Young Link are all gone and the latter two got replacements that are more different from the parent character (Ike and Toon Link respectively). Wolf and Lucas are a bit more complicated since they onlt share specials but we are getting Lucas back so...
I'll let you do that, then cut your head off once you're done. After all, there can be only one!
My Miis:
- Brawler: Senator Armstrong, Kenshiro, Raoh, Juggernaut, Bane, Gaston, Shrek, Ryu
- Swordfighter: Sad Hoshi, Kirito, Raiden, Frollo, Stocking, Deadpool
- Gunner: The Punisher, Jon Tron, Panty, Alucard, Deathstroke, Solid Snake

Cortex should take a 12-step plan off a 10-step pierI wonder how they would declone Dr. Mario in Smash 5. He's the same guy as Mario but with different clothes, so it makes the most sense for him to be a clone. I'd say they should slightly improve his mobility—both on the ground and on the air—and have his recovery range approximately match Mario's, and he'd be perfect for me.
Nor is Lucas, but he didn't really say that. All he said was that they shared specials with other characters. Plus, the guy loves Lucas.

Do you guys think Dr. Mario, Dark Pit, and Lucina will be Luigified in Smash 5, assuming that they'll all be included in some playable form? I'm looking a bit ahead here, but I think the developers sort of put themselves in a Morton's Fork by ascending them from their alternate costume origins in Smash 4. If they return as full clones like in 4, there'll be a chance people will accuse them of laziness, but that in and of itself is a point of debate—according to Sakurai, they took little time to make, but this time around their presence wouldn't have the excuse of being last-minute additions because they were planned ahead of time with the rest of the roster. Meanwhile, if they're cut or relegated to alternate costumes, it might alienate people who enjoyed their slightly different playstyles from their parent fighters (myself included—I play as both Mario and Dr. Mario because, well, why not both?). Giving them unique movesets seems to be out of the question, since Falcondorf is still a thing, so making the trio into semi-clones seems to be the best option, although a few may argue that they shouldn't be their own characters in the first place.
That said, I don't think anyone is opposed to patches that can further differentiate the clones from their original counterparts.
