I do agree, I thought the support for Sigurd would be more heated than this.
Don't PM me. We don't like being PMed.What, Sigurd is just a good ol, hot blooded kinda guy. Can't we celebrate that?
Don't PM me. We don't like being PMed.Well, we don't want to stab you in the back and spoil it for you. Genealogy of the Holy War is a hot game, considered to be one of the best in the series.
Though yeah, it's also very very different from any other game, so that might be a storm of meteors on your parade if you go in to it first or only familiar with Awakening.

Don't PM me. We don't like being PMed.I've played most of FE 7, so I have a rough idea of the step down in ability to grind (yeah, there were arenas, but I didn't use those).
I think a bigger problem would be trying to get an old game in Australia.
I disagree, you can miss a shooting star.
These jokes have the subtlety of a semi-trailer through the front door.

Geez, you sound like someone stole your wife or something
...Though, yeah, OK. This is basically FE in reference nexus. I think we should stop.

Don't PM me. We don't like being PMed.I appear to have found a weakness in the All-Star AI.
Since bum-rushing them tended to end badly for me, I decided to change things up by being very cautious. Which really just means I rolled almost exclusively to move around. My gratuitous rolling seemed to confuse the computer enough that they would just stand there dumbly as I smashed them into oblivion.

Oh wow. I take it Sigurd is the guy people actually managed to win me over for years ago in the Smash World Forums because he just had it so freaking rough everyone wants to have him in Smash just to make him happy?
You know, I have this friend who was all looking forward to Smash 4, but then didn't get the game after all because he was dissatisfied with what he felt was a roster full of anime people. Whether you agree with that opinion or not, he doesn't have it for no reason. Smash is a game that exists for characters like the Ice Climbers and Game&Watch. They absolutely do have personality... or perhaps a better term would be "color" or "flavor". They're two adorable kids in parkas with teamwork and giant hammers, and a funny Eldritch Abomination from the second dimension. If you want cool, handsome men with swords hitting each other, you can play Soul Calibur. Smash Bros lives from having a colorful roster full of wildly different personalities and styles.
As I said, Shovel Knight is ultimately just another sword user, but I absolutely support him because he would bring a sort of spirit with him that isn't quite like anything else in the current roster. The blade has nothing to do with it, and gameplay is just a slave to a concept that's worth the effort. Marth and Ike both just feel like the fast and the slow "hero guy with a sword". Shovel Knight would feel fun. And I would've supported Chrom not if his sword had some sort of property that makes it better at hitting things or something, but if he was, say, a fun-loving lord in colorful Arabian clothes with a penchant for drinking too much in celebration of his most recent victories, or something. Something that makes it feel more like you're playing a character rather than a set of hitboxes.
What if I want cool, handsome men hitting children in parkas with their swords, hm? Smash is fundamentally silly but still has an essence of cool to it all- I think it's a perfect sweetspot of a game where just about any flavor works.
I sure said that!Well, of course. I probably overemphasized "fun" personalities... I don't mean to say that "cool" has no place in the game. But the particular kind of cool that Chrom offers is quite present enough already, is what I mean. There are endless different flavors of "cool", too - Ridley would be cool, Travis Touchdown would be cool, Snake was cool, but all of them in much different ways.
@Fawriel: Since the topic's come back up and I didn't respond before, figure I might as well do it now.
Reading everything through, I realize we were talking about two very different things. You've been talking exclusively on picking out worthy newcomers, whereas I was talking about spicing up the veterans that didn't exactly get the love that some of the newer faces have gotten. And I don't see why our two viewpoints can't coexist, because when it comes to newcomers I agree with you 100%.
