I just realized how legendarily awesome it would be for Banjo & Kazooie to make a return to Nintendo system as a fighter in Smash.
Call me butter, because I am on a roll! 3ds friend code: 5258-0885-3903 Wii U: Bowser CharizardThat's kinda what I was talking about earlier when I said that the fact that folks like Wayforward are actually campaigning for their character means that they don't stand much of a chance. They have to mobilize people to vote for their character because success would mean an incredible break for them that really puts their games on the radar for millions of people who likely never heard of them, and cements their status as the "indie icon" they keep insisting Shantae is, putting her in the same league as characters like Mario and Sonic. Meanwhile, Rare is busy being a company actually in the same league, so people come to them asking if they would be up for it and they can just make some intern on Twitter say "yeah sure" and still end up with several times as many votes.
... It's kind of depressing to think about, but yeah. The fact that indie developers are rallying for their character just shows that it's a dream way out of their league.
(I do think they're probably aware of it - that Shantae poster wasn't exactly a huge investment, and you can't exactly mobilize people well if you don't let them think that there's a chance of success.)
...
I've been getting way too into discussing this stuff. God, I hope they'll actually give us some sort of heads-up very soon after the poll closes. I might just get a heart attack if they just say "okay, done" and then give us no info at all until they announce K.Rool at some point in the summer.

First, it's hard to treat Rare in the same league when they're trapped silent in the Microsoft dungeons.
Second (and more seriously), I get that anyone running the company Twitter can give a yes, but what makes the Rare and Banjo Kazooie case so big is that the OK is coming right from the head honcho himself. It is, at the very least, a smart PR move that makes him look good and shifts all the focus onto Nintendo's willingness to play ball (which you can arguably extend to any company that says yes, though it means a lot more coming from the head).

He's one representation of a playable character. Possibly the art for the card would have current-day Pit as a faded background image to show what he will become.
I'm guessing the Fly is a CCS card? Probably referring to the concept of flight rather than the insect?
Edit: Lucina would make a pretty good Chariot.

I have a message from another time...The Fly is probably about the concept of flight, but if you think about it as the insect and the fact that Pit is it, it becomes a bit amusing
Bowser Jr is the Chariot, I believe it's even one of his Boxing Ring titles in the game, dunno which version though.
Lucina is The Princess.
The cards are ordered in Character Select screen order, so you can pretty much look it all up easily.
I've been watching a bunch of reaction videos for the Mewtwo and Lucas trailers and I cannot believe how many people didn't know about Mewtwo's meteor smash.

It's hard to tell since you can't see the victims' percent, of course, but I didn't notice any smoke coming off of them or anything, so unless they turned it off for the recording, they can't have been that badly damaged, and it had all the graphic treatment of a decisive finishing blow.
Huh, that's weird. That's... really weird. Why would you even react to it if you don't know that much about Mewtwo in Melee? Why would it even seem special then? I dunno.
