That... is exactly the horrible wordplay I'd expect after playing the GC Animal Crossing.
Also on the subject of Peach/Palutina being kidnapping victims, Zelda is captured or in some sort of trouble an awful lot(Not sure how you want to count Sheik for that sort of thing). But there aren't as many Zelda games as Mario ones.
I haven't played FE:A, so no idea about Lucina and Fem!Robin. Samus/ZSS has had to be bailed out of a few sticky situations, but since she's always the main character I don't think she's ever been imprisoned for any significant length of time. And unless you want to take a dark interpertation of her home game(s) I doubt WFT has ever been kidnapped.
I've never heard of Rosalina before Sm4sh, so I have no idea about her. Did I miss anyone else?
EDIT: Oh, and female Villager being in a crazy steep mortgage with no stable income. Though that's just financial imprisonment... maybe.

Lucina and Fem!Robin are among the three protagonists of Awakening.
I don't think Fire Emblem tends to use the Damsel in Distress plot anyways. Plus, it helps that characters like Lucina and Fem!Robin are Action Girls, unlike Peach
Zelda has also escaped imprisonment and has assisted Link when fighting Ganondorf in at least 3 Zelda games.

AAAAUUUUGGGHHHH!!!!Robin (whom I refuse to call "Fem!Robin" until we start calling male Robin "Masc!Robin") and Lucina never get kidnapped, but Fire Emblem is all about the power of friendship and teamwork and relying on each other, so I really can't see either of them giving Peach crap for needing help sometimes.

Yeah but Peach has saved Mario all by herself at one point. Plus don't forget that Peach actually saw Cackletta's plot coming in Superstar Saga and completely outsmarted her for the entirety of the first half of the game. Peach is not dumb.
Peach also helps Mario and Luigi during the first phase of the final boss in Partners in Time and also helps Mario to break Bowser's plot armor in Paper Mario.
For the record, Awakening itself goes out of its way to show Robin as gender neutral in cases where they can't apply the player chosen design, such as CG scenes and such. Hood up, eyes clocked in shadow.
Don't PM me. We don't like being PMed.Pit actually losing his wings isn't exactly treated with any familiarity.
"Tell them to shut up and have some faith in me." - dead flashback guyRegardless, the male is the one Smash clearly finds to be the default. The gender neutral CG cutscenes are so that they work regardless of what Robin looks like due to customization.

I'm the guy who knows how to make games but doesn't. 3DS FC: 2878-9776-7579![]()
It's almost like five-second goofy endings from GameBoy games aren't treated seriously or something.
Well, yes and no- Robin got entirely different renders for their male and female models, at least, which is more than can be said for Wii Fit Trainer or Villager.

I sure said that!Zarek: While I see your point that Lucina and Fem!Robin (Smash treats Male!Robin as default) need to rely on others, but, in FE, everyone relies on each other.
Despite there being a few games where Peach is somewhat useful (obviously barring multiplayer orientated spinoffs), that doesn't quite equal the amount of times she's been kidnapped. (Mario 2 USA isn't really "canon" as it was a dream to begin with)
I don't recall Samus ever being in trouble (though she's an Action Girl, so she can easily get out of imprisonment). Palutena was only a Di D for 1/4 of Uprising, Krystal and Tiny Kong were only kidnapped once, Dixie Kong has never been kidnapped (though Nintendo seems to favor putting Wii Fit Trainer in Smash over her...hopefully Dixie will be DLC but that's off topic).
AAAAUUUUGGGHHHH!!!!![]()
Though the resolutions may vary.
You realize that you're comparing the likes of Tiny Kong to Peach when the latter has had far more proactive roles than the former has had actual appearances?

"Tell them to shut up and have some faith in me." - dead flashback guyWhy would you bar those though? Those are just as valid. I mean, you can definitely make an argument for go-karting and playing tennis not being particularly productive, but it's weird to me to specifically discount those. (Plus, Mario Kart is friggin' dangerous. It's a miracle anyone can survive that stuff; gotta give Peach credit for that.)
Please never use canon (even in quotation marks) in an argument about the Mario universe again. These games don't even come close to having a canon. If we discount Mario 2, we have to discount literally every other game in the franchise because none of them are consistent with each other, except maybe some games in subseries like the Mario And Luigis and the Galaxies.
"We're home, Chewie."I'm not sure if it's ever made clear if SMB 2 was a dream of Mario-tachi defeating a guy named Wart, or if they really did defeat Wart by means of dreaming.
De Romanīs, lingua Latina gloriosa non fuī.

Nothing in Uprising outright contradicts Of Myths and Monsters, but it definitely isn't drawn from or referenced.
Really, beyond the relationships between Pit, Palutena and Medusa and what entities comprise the armies of the latter two, the original game is pretty unimportant to Uprising's progression, too. Which, y'know, fair enough- No sense in constantly referencing an Excuse Plot from a 25 year-old game.

I sure said that!
