Isn't that effectively how AS works in this version anyway? It simply increases with each character you have access to.
And if they cared about challenges that badly, they could always slightly alter the conditions via patch. It was already mentioned a few days ago that the feature itself is in some dire need of ironing out anyway.

"Tell them to shut up and have some faith in me." - dead flashback guyAdding one fighter doesn't seem to be TOO hard...maybe on All-Star they'll up the damage ratio on the characters in whatever match Mewtwo is in.
Most of the other modes don't need much change. He could just be a regular fighter in Classic, Smash Tour, Smash Run...if he's included at all.
You gotta believe me when I scare you away, all that I wish for is that you would stayNope. Not on Wii U anyways. The secret characters only become part of All-Stars when every character is unlocked. I found this out the hard way when I did the requirements for unlocking Dark Pit: Game & Watch and some other fighters I had unlocked before, but G&W specifically because I actually remember unlocking him before Dark Pit, was not among the All-Star fighters before I got True All-Star Mode later on (once I got Lucina). Basically, there's a "locked" All-Star Mode with only the default characters (which includes Jigglypuff, Ness, Ganondorf, and Bowser Jr. if it's the Wii U version) and the "true" All-Star Mode which is basically all the starters and unlockables. There's no in-between ("Locked" All-Star Mode has two Maxim Tomatos, while True All-Star Mode swaps one of them out for a heart).
On that note, I'd say Mewtwo probably won't be added into All-Star or Events (besides as a player character choice in certain events) but other modes might be possible. Classic will only be possible if Mewtwo gets trophies that tell of his role in this Smash though (which is honestly what I'm expecting to happen).

Fantastic Supreme Überkaiser Emperor Folt of The Infinity and Beyond" ... "The First"!
Mostly things like different poses and whatnot.
The descriptions for both are the same (so a player who wants to see what all the Alt Trophies say has an advantage if they have the 3DS version).
The alt trophies also typically tend to be one of the alts of the character in question: Villager, Wii Fit Trainer, and Robin get the alt genders as alt trophies, and other people that have true alts (a true alt typically has as many palette swaps as the main gender/costume) get a version of that (with some exceptions, Bowser Jr. for example doesn't have the Koopalings as his alt trophy).
There also seems to be an unwritten rule that alt trophies never depict the alts' official renders.

Fantastic Supreme Überkaiser Emperor Folt of The Infinity and Beyond" ... "The First"!Except for clones like Play Station All Stars and Punchtime Explosion.

I remember when I trolled my friend by playing as Villager against his R.O.B and snatching his gyro and pretty much disabling it because he didn't know that if Villager pockets a gyro, R.O.B can't use it until Villager loses it somehow.
