What I like about Smash U is that it has the largest list of viable stages for competitive in the series, so there's a lot of variance in it.

... Well I still play in Town and City most of the time but I disgress.

Corneria is a fairly popular one in Melee and Brawl as well.
Surely you mean Lylat Cruise, right? Corneria is the profile Great Fox stage with the Arwings and Wolfens shooting at the fight the whole time.

I sure said that!

Lylat Cruise doesn't exist in Melee tongue

I don't know how.

Battlefield's my favorite neutral stage. Final Destination's a bit too flat and long for my liking.

Final Destination is only my favorite stage because of the music.tongue

Town and City is my favorite stage for competitive matches because it's big, it has platforms and there are points where the stage is completely flat. It's like Battlefield, Smashville and Final Destination mashed up together.

Turns out that despite my initial love for Orbital Gate, my favorite non-Omega stage is again Temple. It's not as huge as Palutena's Temple, but it still has a lot of room to spread out. And I seem to really like it for 8 player Smash.

My favorite Omega stage is Windy Hill because I love Sonic music.

There's a difference in layouts between Smashville and Town & City?

Say, what are the best counterpick stages for the fighters?

My main interest is mainly Sonic, G&W, and Rosaluma, but it'll be nice to see what stage for who. :3

Smashville has one long platform hovering above the main platform at all times, while Town and City has multiple smaller platforms moving around and during the stage transition they go away. I believe the "Town" part of the stage has three platforms with the center one going up and down, and the "City" part has two platforms that move around sideways and are lower than the ones in the first section.

[up] The best counterpicks for Greninja are Town and City, Halberd and Delfino Plaza.

One of my friends that I play SSB with in local matches hates moving stages, tongue.

He doesn't like stages like Mario Circuit U, Orbital Gate Assault, or Port Town Aero Dive.

I love the moving stages. Except Port Town Aero Dive because the racers always speed through at the least opportune moment. And there's one part where the platforms float just a few feet above the track at a bottom of the hill and you get very little warning when the cars are coming.

No matter how many times I look at it I can't figure out what happened there...

EDIT: ...It looks like you used Hydro Pump and he sped off the top of the stage so quickly that it happened in almost an instant.

[up][up] Obviously I must've used Greninja's super secret OHKO move. It just happens that the animation for it is the same as his forward aerial tongue

Greninja's knockback properties are probably just very weird.

My favorite legal stage in Melee is Fountain of Dreams, while Smash 4 is Town and City.

Actually the explanation is that Delfino's Plaza upper blast zone gets much lower when the stage is making a transition, so at that point the Villager was actually above the blast zone so he went boom on hit. Still really weird though.

Speaking of weird, here's me avoiding death by a millisecond.

Yeah, that's a thing with Little Mac's KO Punch. If someone managed to perfectly perform a grab as he performs the KO Punch, both fighters will be pushed back along the stage...Unless an edge is right behind them, in which case both of them go flying right off while still in the grab animation.

I discovered this when a Robin grabbed me with Nosferatu and we both went off the stage. I managed to make it back as Little Mac while the Robin died.

Pure luck, I didn't even know you could grab Mac out of KO Punch. There's like, 5 frames of wind before the punch actually connects so I basically grabbed him during those frames.

I might be decent at this game but I don't have god-like reflexes tongue

Obviously it wasn't reflexes. I was wondering if you predicted that he would go for the punch and tried to beat it there. But it seems that wasn't the case. tongue

I was kinda expecting him to try to nail with a KO Punch for the final kill so I just tried to grab him to make the KO Punch go away.

My reaction when that happened was something along these lines.

Apparently, there's a badge that causes small explosions whenever someone hits you with your shield up.

That is sick, man.
