"You may be able to block a projectile, but let's see if you can block this!"
So we've talked about mains...did we ever talk about punching bags?
Mine always seem to be Lucario and Greninja. Not just because I feel like they replaced Mewtwo and Squirtle (though those are big reasons), but because counterbugs always bother me and I need to practice against them.
I call anybody who uses counter a lot a "counterbug". One of my weird neologisms.
I'll also fight against Bowser, Ganondorf and Wario a lot because they're villains, though I like using Bowser and Ganondorf. They're such hard hitters.
Wario is still gross though.
You gotta believe me when I scare you away, all that I wish for is that you would stayI usually just fight against characters/characters made as a Mii that I like and ignore everyone else.
Though I wouldn't mind using Peach as a punching bag because I really hate her.
Have any of you guys, prior to the announcement of the Mii fighter, dreamed of seeing non-video game characters in a SSB game? I definitely have...and the roster ideas exceeded the number of characters in SSB 4's final roster. Even my Mii fighter count exceeds the amount of non-Mii characters in SSB 4 (excluding characters that cameo: Slippy, Viridi, Krystal, Wolf, Peppy, Leon, Panther. And also excluding Poke Ball/Master Ball Pokemon, Bosses, and Assist Trophies)

AAAAUUUUGGGHHHH!!!!Half-relatedly, I'm really loving Charizard in this game now. He's so strong and his down smash is so useful and after I switch out his Flare Blitz for Dragon Rush I've been able to make him devastating. For me at least.
I'd be tempted to get a Charizard amiibo...I just wonder if any game in the future will use him too.
I feel like having Pokemon amiibos would raise your type power in non-mainline games. Like, Charizard would raise Fire and/or Flying, Greninja would raise Water and/or Dark, Lucario would raise Fighting and/or Steel, Jigglypuff would raise Normal and/or Fairy and Pikachu would raise Electric and/or...Grass? Just to have two. You find it in grass more often than caves anyway.
Mewtwo would be Psychic and maybe Ice. I dunno. But you'd need some more for the rest of the Types.
You gotta believe me when I scare you away, all that I wish for is that you would stayBecause he already made his Return to Dreamland representation in Kirby's final Smash.

I actually prefer the song of the first phase more
I also always set up the CPU to random in training unless I want to test a very specific thing. I don't really hate a character that much (though I hate dealing with Diddy and ROB with a passion) that I'd use them as punching bags.

The page I took a screenshot of says the promotional period ends March 31st. Unless I'm reading it wrong.
Call me butter, because I am on a roll! 3ds friend code: 5258-0885-3903 Wii U: Bowser CharizardI've always wanted to see Johnny Bravo in Smash.
RE: Punching bags: I don't hate any character, but if I'm training, the idea goes like this:
- Intentionally testing specific moves on opponents of certain weight classes: Mario, Bowser, Jigglypuff
- Just standard training: Same character I'm playing as or Random
This has been my mindset in the training mode of any game. I only tend to pick a single specific character if there happens to be one that the Training Mode defaults to (like Ayane in the Dead or Alive's training mode, in which case I'll pick Ayane for every training session).
RE: Lack of "C-R-O-W-N-E-D": Yeah, Sakurai seems to (perhaps subconsciously) mostly add in things that are related to the Kirby titles he's worked on or the games that existed during the time he was working on them. It's a shame too.
I was actually hoping that the Kirby stage for Wii U was going to be Another Dimension, with the stage hazards being randomly placed bosses from throughout the series, who would swoop in to perform an attack and then leave (from my hopes, the bosses would include Whispy Woods, Kracko, Heavy Lobster, Dark Matter, Marx, Drawcia Sorceress, Sphere Doomer & Grand Doomer, Magolor & Magolor Soul, Sectonia & Dreamstalked!Sectonia).

Otherwise, you'll be able to sit on it for a while.

"Tell them to shut up and have some faith in me." - dead flashback guyOh good.
So something I find it quite funny and sad is that Zelda seems to have become this franchise's Butt-Monkey as far as competitive play is concerned. I've seen a lot of jokes made at Zelda's expense and most of those come from people who main her.
So I decided to take Zelda for a spin on For Glory today.
Was significantly less painful than I expected. My win rate still suffered though.
Well, Ash will probably end up with a Greninja in the anime, so yeah...
For punching bags, well, I tend to fight level 8 CP Us (no imput reading cheating), but I rotate them. Still used to Bowser, ever since Melee.
Whew! I just beat Kirby's Crazy Appetite on hard. I'm surprised I finished it almost as soon as I began to seriously attempt it.
Call me Willy Whistle 'cause I can't speak, baby. Something in TV Tropes really drove me crazy.

I like hitting him with the Dragoon.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!
