That'd be ironic considering the dog is generally considered to be The Scrappy of his home series.

Call me Willy Whistle 'cause I can't speak, baby. Something in TV Tropes really drove me crazy.Mario is definitely better in Smash 4. Although he wasn't tweaked much, the game engine was revamped to allowed combos, which he excels at pretty well.
Then again, everybody feels fairly good to me. Meta Knight and Wii Fit Trainer I can't get much out of due to MK being a bit too weak for my tastes and WFT having a very weird moveset. I'll get used to them eventually, and I do find them more interesting than originally. MK due to my lackluster usage of him in Brawl, and WFT due to my initial WTF response at her joining. That said, she's cool as is, and I do like all the playable characters in the series overall anyway.
Shadow?I don't really use Mario much, but from what I heard his F.L.U.D.D. became much more useful than it was before.
Call me Willy Whistle 'cause I can't speak, baby. Something in TV Tropes really drove me crazy. Not really...it serves the same use. If you made use of it in Brawl, you'll make use of it here...gimping recoveries is the only thing its reliable for.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. It's still far better overall. The pushback was increased just to make it more useful in the end. It was always best at edgeguarding, but now it's not somewhat bad at that anymore.
That's not his only overall buff, though. http://www.ssbwiki.com/Mario_(SSB4)
In fact, I suggest you read just how heavily buffed he overall was. He got a few nerfs and a few unchanged or irrelevant changes too.
Really, Mario was changed up quite a bit and is superior to his Brawl self in many ways, where he was just plain awful. And part of that was the gameplay engine working against him. Brawl made combos next to impossible outside of a few quick multi-hits. Mario could combo fine among the other games, and is excellent for it in 4. He's pretty good now overall due to both the better engine and general buffing.
Shadow?Mario was, like everything in Brawl, just soft and light. Everything in 4 is harder and heavier, but in a better way. Melee was harder and heavier, but uncomfortably slower...
And 64 was as choppy as all 3D pre-2000 was.
FINALLY got the Wii U version. And I rejoin the thread during a conversation about my main man, Mario. How appropriate.
Only played for about two hours, but I can't get over how much better it is than the 3DS version (despite being the same game, essentially).
And I'll admit, my jaw dropped when I was looking through the Music list and found a song from Wario Land Shake It. Definitely was NOT expecting that.
...yes, it is. I'd rather run a hundred Smash Runs than a Smash Tour.
But I wish both modes were as customizable as regular Smash. You could choose what kinds of battles you'd have, what items would appear, and what difficulty your opponents were...
City Trial in Kirby Air Ride was that customizable.

You gotta believe me when I scare you away, all that I wish for is that you would stayDoc is slower than Mario and has many different move properties- He can't combo as well and his Forward Air attack can't Meteor Smash, for example.
R.O.B.'s a bit of an odd case- He was originally a peripheral compatible with a pair of games for the Famicom/NES, but even those games regarded him as the creation of Professor Hector, the playable character in both Gyromite and Stack-Up.
He later became something of a go-to cameo character for Nintendo's works, appearing as a background element in several games, most notably including being the last secret character in Mario Kart DS.
However, R.O.B. as he is depicted in Smash Bros is virtually an Original Generation character, having a surprisingly bleak story attached to him as a pivotal character in Brawl's Subspace Emissary mode.

I sure said that!Context!
yeah, if no one reads the whole thing, I don't feel bad if they misunderstand that.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectIt's clear at this point that Sakurai's main focus is never going to be the competitive aspect, really.
And earlier in the interview he said that you can play the game however you want, so... yeah.
