I got Mario, Link, Samus, and Pikachu.
I'm tempted now to get the First Eight, but I just don't know if I'm going to use them all...
(Un?)Fortunately they're relatively cheap. I know I still want Fox, and I may just get DK, Kirby and Yoshi to fill out the octet.
Gah, I'm so old.
You gotta believe me when I scare you away, all that I wish for is that you would stayWell I've decided now to reset my aMariibo so I can level him up more or less even with my other new amiibos.
I took my Link out of the box to try the spinner on Hyrule Warriors and it was...fun, sure...but I think he's gonna be a lot more useful in Smash.
You gotta believe me when I scare you away, all that I wish for is that you would stayI was actually kind of worried the Amiibos would be failures that wouldn't sell enough for Ninty to get their money back, when I first heard of them.
That's master-level foresight, right there, now that they're selling like hot-cakes. I grossly underestimate Smash's power.

"Curry killed the pussy hoping that I could kill the hate in you" - Curry, D. "TABOO | TA13OO." TA13OO, PH, 2018I honestly don't really get the appeal of having all the amiibos.
I mean, I got the Link amiibo, because it does stuff with Smash Bros and Hyrule Warriors, and I hear that the next Zelda game will have some functionality with it. And if other amiibos end up interacting specifically with other games that I want or have, then I might pick them up too.
But $13 a pop just for an occasional fancy CPU fighter in Smash? No thanks, I have other things to waste money on.

Well they're good training partners too.
I definitely want Fox as a reminder to get Star Fox Wii U, but the rest of the First 8 I want just so I can line em up with two question marks on either side and take a picture with the caption "Choose your character!"
I like the ability to use any character I want and prepare to fight strong ones for a tourney. It ain't perfect, but it helps somewhat. Right now, Ganondorf's most difficult match-up for me is Samus due to projectiles and Screw Attack. This'll help a bit. In addition, if I want to bring a specifically set up character for a tourney, I can guarantee I'll have the exact moveset I want.
They also look great on a shelf in the meantime, and they're all useful for random rewards in certain games. I can put in all 40-some except Link/Toon Link to get free stuff in Hyrule Warriors. It's very useful~
Shadow?Oh, speaking of amiibo, Dankey Kang, the fabulous pink gorilla, has reached level 50! He also sparkles during the entire fight!
Call me butter, because I am on a roll! 3ds friend code: 5258-0885-3903 Wii U: Bowser CharizardI feed him EVERYTHING. But the thing is, he starts the fights sparkling and never stops.

Its either certain amount of damage or having no damage...or just doesn't require either condition.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. But no matter how much damage he has, it won't go away. It's there at 0% and as high as 200% and beyond.
Is that a thing? I didn't know

Call me butter, because I am on a roll! 3ds friend code: 5258-0885-3903 Wii U: Bowser CharizardWell its just a minor effect that doesn't require a condition.

Call me butter, because I am on a roll! 3ds friend code: 5258-0885-3903 Wii U: Bowser CharizardI held off feeding my Mario when I realized that amiibos never really need to eat when their level maxes out.
Tonight I reset him and trained him back up 50 with my new Link in like an hour. And just now I welcomed my new Samus to my team with three minutes of hard beating by my custom Samus.
I named my Mario "Amri", my Link "Nik", and my Samus "Uma". Eventually I'm gonna break my Pikachu out and work him up too...
I still really want that Fox. I'm gonna name him Micky. ;p

Heeeeelp, I'm afraid to break my new amiibos out of their boxes for fear of damaging them. <:( Even though I did get them to play with them and not just sell them for more than my family paid for them.
