There is a timing to it but it's not that strict. You have to press your special attack button fairly quickly but you can't mash it.
It's not as amazing as reflecting Villager's tree from the bottom of Guar Plains back to the top for a KO.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!So Iwata (CEO of Nintendo and the guy who put Kanto into Pokemon GS) recently had an interview, where he had an interesting thing to say about Melee.
Namely, he handled the code review and debugging of Melee in its final days, and because of that it was able to come out on time. Just some interesting trivia.
Got Kirby Fighters Deluxe for Christmas and beat all of its difficulty modes just now. The final fight with Dedede was actually pretty tough, but doable and not nearly as frustrating as trying to learn how to combat 9.0 Hands and Core the first few times you face them (I guess because unlike Smash 4, you can continue at the same match on the same difficulty should you lose). It's a fun little game I'd recommend if you liked Kirby Triple Deluxe or like Kirby in general.
I'm mentioning it here because I'm pretty certain that playing Smash for so long made it easier for me to adapt to KFD; when I played the original minigame in Kirby Triple Deluxe, I had a lot of trouble beating anything other than Easy... Maybe I should go do that later (and finish collecting gold keychains so I can finally have a 100% clear on my file).
Oh, and for those that don't know what I'm referring to, Kirby Fighters was a minigame in Kirby: Triple Deluxe that pits you against three or less other Kirbys, all in permanent abilities (like Sword and Cutter and such). Items and stage hazards exist too; it's basically Stamina Mode in Smash Bros with Kirby. Hell, you could probably recreate it a little in Smash U.
Kirby Fighters Deluxe is a standalone version of the minigame with more stages, more hazards, boss battles (two of them really: Kracko and King Dedede; other bosses serve as hazards) and more shout outs to earlier games in the series. It seems a bit harder than the original too.
Yeah I read that earlier. Iwata's an amazing guy in general, but I'm really happy that he works with Nintendo if only because he's responsible for things like this.
I think SSB 4 WIIU is my new favorite Nintendo game of all time.
At some point in 2015, I should make a list of my 50 favorite Nintendo games (meaning games that are published in-house by Nintendo). Of course, after I play some important candidates (like some Pokemon games), and get back into other games (like Twilight Princes and Galaxy)

Sadly, neither Kirby Fighters or Kirby Fighters Deluxe has online (at least as far as I can tell).
For some relevance to Smash Bros., I actually got Fighters Deluxe to help me ready myself for Smash since I didn't want to get the demo (and wasn't too impressed with it when I did).

No, you can't play KFD online, which is unfortunate. At least owning Kirby Triple Deluxe means you get two more abilities (Beetle and Bell) and a new stage to play with in Fighters Deluxe. There's also a standalone version of Dedede's Drum Dash too, if you're into that (the Brutal Bonus Level in KTD's Drum Dash kind of put me off of wanting the standalone game, but I'll probably cave and get it later anyway...).

I beat that challenge...it involves always moving, kicking the Miis out of the way but not relying on KO-ing them, focusing on the other Diddy Kong and not giving up when he kicks you off.
Also, a willingness to keep trying. Wasn't able to get 4 KO's on him too, but that's okay because now I can do it with anybody.
You gotta believe me when I scare you away, all that I wish for is that you would stayI got that challenge, but died on the way to 4 K Os. I'm not exactly sure what a good strategy for it would be though, since I'm not sure how I did it in the first place. I don't even main Diddy.
There is actually a bit of an exploit with that challenge, that I found, anyways.
The Diddy AI will NEVER successfully use their Up B to get back onto the stage. The trick to getting four K Os on him is to abuse that fault in the AI as so:
First, abuse B-Airs and Smashes to deal damage on him. Do not focus on the Miis at all. Second, abuse throws to get him off the stage. Third, at the ledge, use tilts to force the AI to dodge in mid-air as they try to recover, making it so they don't grab the ledge. Finally, the AI will try to rocket and die.
I've been putting off challenges to try out those custom moves I hadn't been using. I'm making so many alts for my favorite characters, especially Fox.
If there's a Smash 5, I want there to be even more customization. Like...CUSTOM BASIC ATTACKS!

No, it's the same. I saw it when I had someone good try to beat my Pikachu. He was throwing the match each time so I could fight against that challenger myself.
