I just tried Event mode for the first time and woooow did it make me remember how much I can hate a Smash Bros game. Goddamn.
I'll just go ahead and not give a shit about any rewards because a challenge like "beat this bullshit in 45 seconds or less" is just the greatest shit in the world when the enemies do nothing the whole time but randomly run in circles and evade you, FUCK. GodDAMN.
It just feels so random. You have no control over when the CPU decides to perfectly block and when it doesn't, you can't anticipate its attacks because it just randomly decides whether it's going to attack, jump around like a moron or stand around like a moron. I got so close to 45 seconds on the Event where you have to beat Link and Zelda and then Palutena as G-dorf, then almost as close, and then I finally managed to KO Link and Zelda simultaneously at a super-early point, but nope, Palutena decided not to let it happen with some random dodging bullshit and just
wow, these games
... are there any event match rewards that actually matter or is it all gimmicky equipment?

@bats The Duck Hunt stage requires getting at least one KO in Cruel Smash, Pac-Land requires playing on all three Smash Tour maps, and Kongo Jungle 64 requres beating The Original Heavyweights, but that one's easy.
Eeeeeeeeverything in this Smash is harder. But fortunately, here are the unbreakable challenges:
- Clear Classic on at least 8.0 with at least 2 characters
- Clear Classic on at least 8.0 with at least 3 characters
- Clear Classic on 9.0 without losing a life
- Clear True All-Star on Hard difficulty
- Clear a Master Order on Very Hard or higher
- Get 8 KO's in Cruel Smash with Lucina
- Get a Fever Rush 8 or more times in Trophy Rush with Dr. Mario
- Clear True All-Star on Normal or higher without using healing items
- Clear Solo 10-Man Smash with Dr. Mario without taking damage
- Complete all reward conditions for Solo Events (dang)
- Clear Solo All-Star within 6 minutes with Jigglypuff
- Collect over 300,000 G
- Clear True All-Star on Hard with Duck Hunt
- Clear True All-Star Battle:Secret event on Hard
- Clear all Solo Events
At least, those are what Gamefaqs tells me.

You gotta believe me when I scare you away, all that I wish for is that you would stayNo...because the Wii-U's processing power won't allow more stages to be played with 5 to the full 8 player Smash battles.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. Its not Only because of the Size...its also because of the all Background shenanigans.

Not that it isn't fun, but I have to be in the right mood to spend several minutes of my life beating everybody on the roster with everybody on the roster in All Star mode.
You gotta believe me when I scare you away, all that I wish for is that you would stayYeah, I think this is where the sheer size of Smash 4 can work against it. Do you really want to go through all these modes with every single character? That's why bigger may not be the best way to go with the next instalment. At some point it's just completely unmanageable and tedious.
I'm just focused on unlocking the characters and levels. Once that's done I'm not bothering overly with all the other stuff, not even customs. I have yet to collect a CD though, so that's sad.

Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau Project

It's not about how hard you hit, but where you're hitting.
The credits you hit fly (almost) straight back into the wall. You have to hit them in the right place at the right time...
I've found that it matters where your attack's hitbox is.
