They should make it so that when you complete every challenge in the Wii U version, you unlock the Title Scream.
Souleye - PPPPPP - Potential for Anything 3DS FC: 2621-3105-8671About what Sakurai said...I doubt they'll abandon the series, given how popular it is, but I doubt anyone would fault him if he wasn't involved. The guy's got some serious health problems, and working on this one seemed to have taken a lot out of him.
If it were some other company, I'd be worried about how they'd do without him, but this is Nintendo we're talking about. They've continued to put out consistently good games over all these years. Pretty sure Smash Bros. would be fine regardless of who was in charge.
Like Miyamoto would actually touch the series...
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Kirby's still been great since he left, but the best one (at least to me), Kirby Super Star, was made while he was still there.

Souleye - PPPPPP - Potential for Anything 3DS FC: 2621-3105-8671Which is the style that they're still currently basing the new games off of...since Return to Dreamland.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Kirby Super Star Ultra is literally the same game except it looks a little better and there's some extra game modes.
Returns to Dreamland and Triple Deluxe have extremely similar overall concepts beyond the addition of mild puzzle elements in the Ultra Copy Abilities and Hypernova.
I sure said that!![]()
Rainbow Curse is very much not in that style along with Mass Attack. Triple Deluxe was though.
It's a remake. Much like OOT 3DS, I credit it to the original director.
Do Spin-offs apply to the style that comes from a game that is considered to be a main title in a series?
Also Mass Attack was 2 years before Return to Dreamland...and Rainbow Curse is a sequel to a game made way after Sakurai left.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Mass Attack was released the same year as Return to Dreamland and as for Rainbow Curse... <shrugs> it's the most recent game regardless.

Souleye - PPPPPP - Potential for Anything 3DS FC: 2621-3105-8671Kirby's got a lot of full-featured sidegames, probably because he as a character is very conducive to weird experimental gameplay changes that only go for one or two rounds. The "main" series of Kirby games is still the action-platformers- So, Sakurai's games, the Sakurai-likes and the Dark Matter trilogy.

I sure said that!I confused Returns with Dream Collection for some reason and forgot that 2011 existed.
It was a year.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Yeah, the main series Kirby games are still platformers and they're still really high-quality, I never meant to imply that they weren't. What I wanted to get across is that I really like Sakurai's work a lot. He helped with the production of the GBA Fire Emblem game and was behind Kid Icarus: Uprising, both of which are my favorite games in both series.
I guess I'm just afraid that were he to leave smash, my favorite would always be one that he had a hand in making.
Squeak Squad was the first "main" Kirby made after Sakurai left, and it was meh.
Nah, it was way too good. That and I checked.

I think the first was actually Amazing Mirror? Which was pretty fun.
Hm, okay, he is listed as "Special Advisor" for the game (whatever that means). Not sure how much he would've been involved, though, if he left like 8 months before the game was released.

a.k.a. Cly, that one girl who doesn't post here much anymore Something something YI = SMW 2 = SMB 5.I actually wouldn't mind seeing a completely new face for the next Smash game. Who are the people working on Splatoon? They seem to know how to make a good competitive game, I'd go look at them.
This has absolutely nothing to do with how I want Inkling in the game.
I was under the impression that Nightmare in Dreamland, Amazing Mirror, and Squeak Squad were all after he left.
ND and SS were rather mediocre. Amazing Mirror was good, but still suffered from the lack of variety in Kirby's power attacks.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Well, Nightmare in Dreamland was a remake and let you play as Meta-Knight so I let it slide and I thought that having easier access to more abilities at anytime (if one of your Kirbies got UFO or some other ability you wanted, you could summon them and take it) helped alleviate the lack of variety in Magic Mirror. It's also the only Kirby game that let you play the levels in almost any order you felt like and it gave us the glorious SMASH Kirby (I'm convinced Sakurai made this ability right before leaving to work on Brawl), which are big pluses in my book.
And Squeak Squad just had lots of issues.

They'd better add it in an update then. It just doesn't feel like a proper fighting game without a Title Scream.
