Or, he's gentlemanly enough to give you a fair chance of beating him. You know, because he isn't exactly trying to kill you dead.

You know, because he isn't exactly trying to kill you dead.

Well that explains the wide array of giant swords that he consistently materializes as.

I mean, Set Swords to "Stun" is in full effect. Smash is basically a very elaborate sumo match, don't forget.

Between toys.

Bigger than Tabuu should be an enemy that can actually break trophies.

The Hands' evil uncle, maybe.

Honestly, I'm pretty sure the whole "Master Hand is a kid playing with Trophies" thing ended up more or less dropped by Brawl.

I sure said that!

Wasn't that just a theory and nothing more in the first place?

It makes sense in the first two games due to the openings. Regardless, I am happy to see Master Hand becoming even more interesting, after getting worfed in Brawl, in and out of universe. He's far easier to fight at times than his Melee self(except during Classic), and clearly is outclassed by Tabuu. Of course, him taking a level in badass is neat too.

Also, what did they call the darkness in Master Hand? It wasn't Shadow Bugs, right?

I see it as a long-ignored backstory.

The kid is still playing, but he's just not alluded to anymore.

Besides, by now WE'RE the kids with the toys. tongue ^The "Swarm".

Ah, thank you. Dang, it'd be cooler if it was Shadow Bugs. They're very similar to it, though. Well, the bosses keep getting cooler each game.

And yeah, we grew up. tongue

Shadow bugs are Subspacian. The Swarm is just Final Destination-ian.

And Subspace is totally out of the world, while Final Destination is just up in space. And sometimes it goes flying over other planets like Lylat Cruise.

That makes sense. I would not mind if DLC was made for a new Adventure Mode for each version. Smash Run is okay, but the time limit doesn't let you explore much. I like the customization moves, but I feel it's too limited.

[up][up]I sincerely doubt Game & Watch was intended to be from Subspace.

Right, he's from Flat Zone...but which just raises more question though, doesn't it.

@Irene And by "kids with the toys", I meant that we were getting amiibos. ;p

Yeah, Shadow Bugs were explicitly derived from Mr. Game & Watch according to one of the trophies in Brawl.

... Of all the characters to have pivotal and major background importance to the setting of Subspace Emissary, it's Mr. Game & Watch and R.O.B. I'm not complaining, but it is an somewhat unusual set of choices.

I sure said that!

#63767: Nov 10th 2014 at 2:08:10 AM

It's the basic things that make for nice plotlines.

Well, I want to say that Shadow Bugs are still Subspacian because Tabuu was using them. He found that they made for good minions so he used his dimensional powers to snatch up some Mr. Game and Watches and crush them into Shadow Bugs for his army.

R.O.B.s he grabbed too.

But WHO REALLY KNOWS ANYWAY. Nintendo is all about things that don't make sense if you think about them for too long.

Though, again, it's really fascinating that Sakurai decided to give a backstory to R.O.B., much less make it a harrowing and frankly very sad one.

He was pretty much The Scrappy in his actual era, so it makes sense to me that Sakurai went all-out to make him redeemable. I mean, even if his games weren't very good, there's no denying his importance.

Also, someone on Tumblr pointed out that the R.O.B. Amiibo will basically be R.O.B. 2.0.

Where else can you even fight the thing?

(If it wasn't for how I keep getting kicked down in difficulties in Classic I would be able to actually practice effectively against Master Core...)

I like that Mr. Game & Watch has backstory importance in SSE, but I wish he had a bit more present-time importance. He has one cutscene where he doesn't even get introduced, turns into Duon, and is recruited afterward and never really seen again.

I guess because his name wasn't Kirby, Meta Knight, or Dedede.

For me, most of Tabuu's difficulty came from how I had no idea how to dodge the Off-Waves. After reading online that I have to Roll, more than half of the difficulty disappeared.

[up][up]Or Lucas.

[up][up][up]Pretty sure that's referring to Brawl's Boss Battles.

...Which is a rather pointless statement to make, seeing how both of the hands have their health reduced to virtually nothing for no reason in that mode.

Oh, it's not the health. They're just freaking idiots in Boss Battles mode. The hands are both Breather Bosses in that mode regardless of difficulty. In Classic and Event Mode, they're still smart.
