[up][up]While that might be true, there still is an internal stage switch somewhere, because it definitely turns off karts in Rainbow Road should there be a 4-player game in order for the game not to slow down. Did it myself.

Which means the only thing keeping us from it is Sakurai's stubbornness regarding not copying ANYTHING.

Oh please, didn't we already have this discussion? No need to derail the thread once again for who knows how many pages. There are people that enjoy the over-the-top chaos.

I'm not saying chaos can't be a thing. Crazy matches can be fun. I just wish stage hazard switching was a thing, because there's practically no reason for it to not exist.

Because I love Magicant's layout, which would otherwise be great for 1-on-1.

Yeah, sure, I wouldn't mind that kind of thing. It's just that I'd rather not see further derailing with complaining about that; the last one was a little headache inducing.

So, I've officially determined that we should call for four setups in Smash 5/A Smash 4 update! We want hazard-free stages and Battlefield layouts in addition to Omega stages! Let's call 'em Alpha and Beta stages, just for the sake of a theme.

I sure said that!

Doing a thread hop just to say that Poison Mushroom + Shulk + "I'm really feeling it" is one of the most hilarious things I've heard.

Any character with non-exert lines is excellent to expose to a Super or Poison 'Shroom, but Shulk's accent makes it even better.

Using customizations, I made an insane Shulk with his white and blue color schemes and pretend it's him wearing Junketsu.

... I want to see someone draw that now.evil grin

Back in Brawl, I'd like to set the battle to Mini Brawl, and use Final Smashes. Normally using one undoes a poison mushroom, but not if it's the battle parameter.

So we'd get a squeaky "C'mon! Blue Falcon!" and "Great! Aether!"

While we've past this topic of conversation, I would like to mention that I also don't like Balloon Fight and Reset Bomb Forest.

Balloon Fight is the visuals - they're an eyesore for me. If they weren't, I'd probably really like the stage.

Reset Bomb Forest has this really annoying Cave of Life in the second phase, a lot of would-be K.Os were blocked by that Cave of Life.

All the same, the upper-left platforms can be destroyed and they won't even appear in a 4-man fight. Two refs would make it a perfectly acceptable one-on-one stage.

I sure said that!

The only one that's irked me is Paper Mario. I hate the Bowser's Castle area, since the platforms are tiny and you can easily die if you stay stuck in the Bowser door mouth.

I haven't had any issues with any other course. Guar Plains is a bit hard to fight on, I admit. Balloon Fight I didn't play enough, so we'll have to see. Related, I fought Giant Wii Fit Trainer on Balloon Fight. She KO'd herself 5 seconds in. XD

And the rest of the course was honestly fun too. The grass area wasn't beyond awesome, but it had no issues. Slightly annoying at most. The ship area was neat, reminding me somewhat of Pirate Ship.

I think a viable tourney list for stages is highly possible, and the stinkers aren't high. Guar Plains(due to little fighting room), Prism Tower(way too many small platforms), Paper Mario(as explained). Some of the moving stages have walk-offs, as does Living Room. Pac-Maze would require testing, but Balloon Fight is too disruptive. You know my stance on Paper Mario.

Current thoughts on Smash 3DS stages as far as viability goes-

Battlefield, Final Destination (counting the Omegas, obviously) and Yoshi's Island are the only really-good-for-competitive-play stages we've got.

Arena Ferox, Prism Tower, Reset Bomb Forest and MAYBE Tortimer Island and Mute City seem like viable counterpick options, and Tomodachi Life should probably be barred from serious 1-on-1 but shouldn't be from serious 2-on-2.

I sure said that!

I don't know about Reset Bomb. Aside from the few seconds it takes to transition to and from the bomb explosion, the stage is just a collection of small platforms.

Reset Bomb Forest has been a Counterpick everywhere I heard the stage being brought up

It's really a shame that many stages on the 3DS are so wacky. I believe I heard talk of 3D land being legal though.

So, Shulk. I tried playing around with him a bit and... juggling the Arts is kinda tricky. Plus he has some pretty unintuitve hitboxes on his Monado.

But he seems fun, and good at fighting. Any advice?
