It's kinda funny, some people have trouble doing smashes, some people have trouble not doing smashes, and sometimes, it changes... I used to not have the timing down, but once I got a little better at the motor skills needed for videogames, I had more trouble with the more subtle control needed for tilts~

So are they teasing some Kid Icarus Uprising 2 with this?
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectYou wanna know something I love about Smash Bros? How it exposes you to new franchises. I knew about Xenoblade Chronicles beforehand due to Operation Rainfall but never really cared about it. Watching Chuggaaconroy play the game made me regret not picking it up then. I'll try my best to get it and a New 3DS when they come out in the West.
And then there's Fire Emblem, one of my all time favorite game series. I have Smash Bros to thank for that game coming to the West and for its continued existence.
Is there any series that you guys only picked up because of Smash Bros?
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Picked up Star Fox 64 from the VC thanks to it. Found out I wasn't a fan, but it was neat nonetheless.
Same for Shadow Dragon (though technically I had limited prior experience with FE7 due to an acquaintance several years back), except this one got my attention and kept it.
Would also say something similar for Earthbound, but no luck with getting that quite yet.
On the Wii U, which I have extremely limited access to for the time being.

"Tell them to shut up and have some faith in me." - dead flashback guyI don't know if it's available to all regions but it should be on the eShop.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!I'd say that childhood exposure to Smash 64 and Melee definitely resulted in my becoming more interested in games beyond Mario, Pokemon and Kirby. My Wii was busted when Xenoblade was new and I can't justify the inflated price the game now carries as a result of its limited print run, so I'll probably be one of the first in line for a New 3DS copy of Xenoblade.

I sure said that!
X4:
- Xenoblade (My brother already had a copy I just hasn't touched yet.)
- Metal Gear
- F-Zero
- Earthbound
- Even fan games have had this effect on me with Dragon Ball and Tales of...
Games that Smash has influenced me to play and/or become interested in:
- From 4: Dillon's Rolling Western. Didn't know it was a Nintendo property for one, and while I wasn't really interested in the game enough to buy, I somehow had the ability to download it, to my surprise, so now it's on my 3DS. Haven't started it yet though.
- From 4: Fire Emblem. Mostly due to how often Fire Emblem took over this thread during the speculative days.
I'm still iffy about the series (it being a tactical RPG and all), but I at least have The Sacred Stones on my 3DS to try out.
- From Melee: Ice Climber. I now have it on my 3DS.
- From Brawl: Warioware.
- From Brawl: Punch Out!!.
- From Brawl: Pikmin, although I still can't find any copies of Pikmin 2 in my area.
- From 4: Xenoblade Chronicles. My brothers own the game, but they're still playing it. I had watched them play some of it a long time ago, but I found it generic and didn't really understand the hype behind it. Now that I know that it'll be coming for the New 3DS, I want to give it a fair shot. If not, then I'll just borrow my brothers' disc.
- From Brawl: Mother 3. I've played Earthbound and read an LP of Mother, but never really considered the third game until Lucas showed up in Brawl. Of course, this meant I was spoiled by some of the things they included from Mother 3 in Brawl, but that's just how it goes.
- From 4: Sakura Samurai. I don't even remember what kind of game it was, but I recall being interested in it when I saw videos of it before it released. Like Dillon's, I didn't know it was a Nintendo property.
- From 4: Bit Trip. I don't know anything about it, but have seen the main character in a few other titles before, so maybe I should give it a whirl.

This is probably one of the most unique takes on a song in the game.

King Dedede's Dojo only accepts the best of Gordo hitters!
On another note: Smash Bros. inspired me to pick up the Fire Emblem series. It is now one of my favorite series alongside most of the key Nintendo series. (Super Mario Bros., Legend of Zelda, Pokémon, etc.)
Fantastic Supreme Überkaiser Emperor Folt of The Infinity and Beyond" ... "The First"!Smash inspired me to play...Kid Icarus: Uprising? I had never played the original Kid Icarus, but I was pretty sure that Uprising was nothing like it. Still, Pit and Palutena easily grew on me.
But oh, I'm so sad...getting custom specials is so much easier with fighters I don't use much, but I don't use them because I'm not crazy about how they fight...
You gotta believe me when I scare you away, all that I wish for is that you would stayI was on a roll this morning. I actually got my win percentage back over 61%. Yay me
Honestly, it'd be easier to list the franchises represented by Smash that I didn't get into because of it.
- Mario of course.
- I got into Donkey Kong because my brother got a copy of DKC2 on the GBA. Which he may or may not have picked up because of Smash, I honestly don't know (but it's definitely possible). If so, this is an indirect example of Smash introducing me to something.
- I started playing Pokémon because I had a lot of fun when I first played Pokémon Stadium with my cousin, and my affinity for the anime as a kid had nothing to do with Smash.
- I've been interested in Pikmin since the middle of the Gamecube's life cycle.
- I was loving Xenoblade before Smash 4 was even a thing.
- I can't believe I'm admitting this, but I did buy Wii Fit in 2009 and actually liked it for a while.
- Sonic was a part of my childhood well before he got into Brawl.

What is a fandom? A miserable little pile of flame wars! 3DS FC: 0387-9377-7408 PSN ID: Raven King SageIt inspired me to watch Kid Icarus: Uprising (and better that than playing it, stylus controls are not my thing even if it's better than touchscreen gameplay)...nothing else really. I guess I might do the same for Xenoblade Chronicles?
Is it okay for me to talk about Dark Pit now?
MMORPGs are serious business.No. Just ask in the spoiler thread
we have if you don't want to keep tagging him here and want to talk about him in depth.

I got into Legend of Zelda and Fire Emblem thanks to Smash.
Brawl inspired me to get Wind Waker thanks to maining Toon Link for a while and liking the Great Sea stage, which was my first real foray into the series, while Robin's reveal trailer inspired me to see just what all the hype was about.
I guess I probably wouldn't have investigated MOTHER without Smash Bros. bringing it to my attention, but I wouldn't say anything specific in Smash Bros. drove me to try it.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! In which Blazblue/Guilty Gear invades Smash Bros.

A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.

I'm an old hand at this series but even I had to relearn tapping and tilting on the Circle Pad. I had a slight advantage from some prior practice with Kid Icarus Uprising, but that game was a little more willing to interpret a fast tilt as a tap than Smash is.
I sure said that!
