@Yuuki: You might not know this, but characters have different moves in the air for attacking forwards or backwards, and the one backwards is often an effective KO move, including for Pit. It's not as strong as his forward-smash, but it can be easier to hit with. With Pit, it might be difficult to use it, though, because each of his multiple hops in the air (yes) can make him turn around, so it would be good to practice that.
Also I found his recovery terrible, but if it works for you, that's cool.
I'm finding it hard to see how jumping twice (or more) and then using a move that attacks behind me (or at least that's what I'm assuming based on how you mentioned turning around) would be easier to hit with, but I'll check it out. I heard of back moves but I couldn't tell how the hell I was supposed to use them, is it just an air thing? (I was trying on the ground.)
Also, I only just learned that there's a difference between tilt and smash attacks. Guess I'll have to practice activating those too. Along with throws after grabbing.
MMORPGs are serious business. In the air, changing direction can't be done except by characters with three or more jumps, or by Marth and Lucina as a special property of their backwards air attack. Pressing the control stick in the opposite direction your character is facing while in the air with the attack button will use that character's backwards air attack.
I sure said that!I'll post about Pivot Bairs again for people who don't know.
This version has a new, intentionally-added mechanic known as Pivot Cancelling. That means the "turning around while running" animation can be immediately chained into any other action.
Run forward. Pivot and cancel into a jump. Now you can use your Bair in front of you while moving forwards. This is extremely useful with characters like Mr. Game & Watch, whose Bair is better at racking up damage (though not at KO-ing) than his Fair while having similar properties, and Wii Fit Trainer, whose juggling-focused Fair is absolUtterly useless against anyone on the ground.

"It's liberating, realizing you never need to be competent." — UltimatepheerYeah, it's just an air thing. The thing that makes an air attack potentially easier to hit with than a smash attack is... you know, your opponent's probably gonna spend a decent amount of time in the air, and your ground move won't hit them there! The difference for Pit is very noticeable, by the way - his forward-aerial (fair) is the twirly blades, while for his back-aerial (bair), he just thrusts them back once. As I said, it can be difficult to do precisely the move you want with Pit's multiple jumps because he might turn around and do the fair instead. I recommend turning off tap-jumping (jumping by tapping the control pad upwards) in the options, which is generally a good idea anyway so you can attack upwards from the ground without the risk of jumping instead.
I also find aerials to be more reliable in general because you can use them while in motion. Smash attacks, especially forward-smashes, can be hard to hit with at higher difficulties or against human opponents because if it's not very fast, that means they have to make themselves vulnerable right in front of you for a moment, or you need to do a good job anticipating that they're going to be vulnerable right in front of you by the time you activate the smash. Up-smashes or down-smashes are generally nicer in that regard because they usually attack around you, which is more forgiving if you don't anticipate correctly and your opponent tries to roll around you or somesuch. (Also you can use an up-smash from a dash, making it the most mobile smash option, but that's for later.
)
For now, yeah, the distinction between tilts and smashes is very important. Not quite that critical for Pit because even his smashes are relatively fast, but for many characters you'll want to be able to tilt reliably so you don't leave yourself open to attacks while you're revving up for a big smash. One important thing to keep in mind is that it's not that you have to gently tilt your control pad to the side to perform a tilt, but rather that you have to quickly move it to the side and press A at the same time to perform a smash. This can cause problems because people often violently jerk the pad around for everything because they didn't get used to it enough for finer control, but what I mean to say is, a tilt will activately whenever your pad is being held in a direction and you press A, so long as you don't require the quick tap and simultaneous A that's required for a Smash. That means you can use a tilt even when it's all the way on one side. For example, you could be using any Smash attack, and then move the pad to the side and hold it there, and as soon as the character's done with the attack, they'll walk towards the side you're holding, and pressing A will cause them to tilt. I think that's important to internalize because gently pushing the pad to perform a tilt can be a little much to ask for. (Also important to keep in mind: Tapping the stick to the side and keeping it there while idle and on the ground will make you dash, in which case pressing A will only let you use a dash attack. As long as you don't tap it, you can walk instead and retain more options.)
... Sorry if that was a little much to take in, but I think these are some important basic pointers to internalize in order to get better.
Characters whom I have gotten all their custom moves so far (disregarding the Mii Fighters and Palutena): Mario, Luigi, Bowser, Wario, Mr. Game & Watch, Ganondorf, Marth, Ike, Robin, Pikachu, Charizard, R.O.B., Cpt. Falcon, Dr. Mario, Dark Pit, Shulk, PAC-MAN, and Mega Man.
Characters whom I only need 1 custom move to complete: Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, Link, King Dedede, Fox, Lucario, and Jigglypuff.
Characters whom I need 2 custom moves to complete: Zelda, Kirby, Meta Knight, Little Mac, Falco, Duck Hunt Duo, and Olimar.
Everyone else needs 3 custom moves or more to complete. At least I have over half of the custom moves now, having gotten over 300 custom moves.
Fantastic Supreme Überkaiser Emperor Folt of The Infinity and Beyond" ... "The First"!The total custom move count is 376, correct? If so, I'm only missing two, though I can't remember who they're for off the top of my head.
Speaking of heads, I'm missing 5 hats and have had absolutely no luck obtaining them. I have no idea what else to do besides a ton of Classic runs and Trophy Rushes. All-Star and Smash Run are both too unreliable for Custom parts.

The context of that conversation sounds rather cut-and-paste.
Like so.

"Tell them to shut up and have some faith in me." - dead flashback guySeems like most of them will have like 2 lines before repeating the rest of the guidance from the mass-produced car bit.
Also, they're all such nerds for Mega Man.
It's fitting that Viridi mentions, in particular, his weapons based on leaves, electricity, and animal claws.
I have a message from another time...Uh, Baffle, if you're around, I was doing a best out of 3 with someone so I couldn't fight you, if you still want to go 1-on-1 against me I'm still online.
On another note, I'm getting better! Previously there was a guy who defeated me 2x0 with Yoshi, but today I managed to reverse the situation. Progress!

Items charge it faster, it is noticeable since the time it takes to do without items is around 1 minute and 30 seconds.
