Got most of the special moves (was faster than I thought it'd be to be honest) I wanted, though I'm still missing Distant Nosferatu and Piercing Bow.
Any Robin mains around? Right now I have Speed Thunder, Arcfire, Gliding Elwind, and Nosferatu equipped.
Don't know if Speed Thunder's...speed is good enough to compensate for its damage (I get this feeling that says I have no idea how important damage is in this game in general, or how high it can get.)
Fire Wall looks like it could be interesting but I feel that the loss of Arcfire would be rather significant...it's like, the only move I have other than melee range attacks that usually actually hit. Of course that's simply because I'm not good at the game (it's my first Smash game and it hasn't even been a week I think since I got it, not that I'm normally particularly good at fighting games) but utility is a lot more favorable for someone like that. Dunno how much incentive there would really be to use it. Arcfire+ too I guess.
Gliding Elwind feels awesome so unless there's something dumb like using up more tome uses I'll probably keep it.
Going to try to wait for Distant Nosferatu to show up, but I do have Goetia already. Is the pulling effect good enough to warrant switching to it? I heard people basically use Nosferatu when they would grab, and this seems relatively good for that kind of purpose, but not healing from it also makes me question how much I would get out of it when this tome has so few uses.
MMORPGs are serious business.![]()
Thunder+ is pretty good, since the extra power makes up for the lower number of uses and Thunder tomes replenish fast anyway. Arcfire+ isn't great in Vs stuff but pretty handy for Smash Run, much like how DK's Hot Slap isn't overall very good but makes Smash Run less problematic, since it can take out Gastly and stun Polar Bear.
As a warning, Distant Noseferatu's effect is somewhat misleadingly described in-game. It HAS to be used from a few steps back, and absolutely can't be adjusted.

I sure said that!Um... not really. I'd say they're on the same level of distinction. Conductor Link is wearing different clothes than Toon Link, while 8-bit Dog just has a different aesthetic.

What is a fandom? A miserable little pile of flame wars! 3DS FC: 0387-9377-7408 PSN ID: Raven King SageThere's a huge difference between an 8-bit sprite and a full model, compared to two full models with the exact same face and only different clothing.
The level of difference is quite a bit bigger. Clearly enough to remove him in the first place. Especially since Toon Link is removed from the background if regular Link shows up. It's pretty much the "models" at this point.
Shadow?Am I the only one who noticed that Conductor Link's model is way lower quality than Toon Link's on the 3DS? No?
What is a fandom? A miserable little pile of flame wars! 3DS FC: 0387-9377-7408 PSN ID: Raven King SageNo, but it hardly changes my point in any way. Just another Toon Link, which is pretty much confirmed anyway by the Trophy alone in Smash 3DS.
"This cartoonish version of Link is how he appeared in The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker and a few other titles. In Smash Bros., he uses moves much like his older, taller counterpart. His small size gives him extra speed, though, so take advantage of that to send your foes flying." A few means 3-4. It's the same guy. It also furthers confirms he's a design choice, not the specific WW guy.
No idea why Duck Hunt appears in the background when Toon Link cannot when Link or regular Toon Link can. Doesn't make much sense to me. Beyond the fact "models are more confusing than sprites".
Shadow?Info on the Yoshi's Wooly World stage.
I can never stop customizing...every time I come back to a fighter I check and see if I have new better equipment.
I pretty much always put on the strongest attack badge, the highest defense badge, and a speed badge that doesn't make the speed higher than the attack.
Especially not with fighters that are already fast, they could just do with a lot more attack.
You gotta believe me when I scare you away, all that I wish for is that you would stayWe're talking about the same trophy descriptions that somehow managed to get the Dark Pit Staff and the Sacred Treasures mixed up, right?
"Tell them to shut up and have some faith in me." - dead flashback guyThat's actually a case of an Inconsistent Dub. What were simply termed "Weapons" in the English version of Uprising were called "Sacred Treasures" in Japanese. I have no idea how they were identified as distinct from -the- Three Sacred Treasures in that version, but they had to have been somehow.

I sure said that!I don't know what the generic name for the weapons are in Japan (the Japanese word, not the English translation) but the Three Sacred Treasures are called the Sanshu no Jingi (三種の神器 lit "three kinds of sacred treasures"). It should be noted that "Sanshu no Jingi" is also the name for the Imperial Regalia of Japan

Which also furthers keep it correct.
Yes, he's a design choice. The game makes it clear he's in at least 3-4 besides WW. ST uses the exact same design(the clothes being the only legitimate difference), as do the Four Swords games. Minish Cap as well. He's just a composite of them all. Why he doesn't have many items from them and still cribs off Link is just a Sakurai choice instead. His only reason was tradition(as Toon Link was clearly a reimagining of Young Link), but I would love it if he got some more variation. Not to the point he stops being similar to his Brawl self, but just a few differences. I'm sad he didn't get Ice Arrows as a customization. Fire Arrows is nice, as it's somewhat of a Call-Back to Young Link in a sense. Maybe Link could've gotten the Ice Arrows instead? He was its first user. Then Young Link. Then Toon Link.
To be fair, Pulse said Sacred Treasures, not Three Sacred Treasures. The Dark Pit Staff is pretty believable as a sacred weapon.
...And apparently we forgot spoilers. ._.

Pulse said that he wasn't sure how the Japanese differentiated between the regular weapons (apparently also called Sacred Treasures) from the Three Sacred Treasures. The Three Sacred Treasures are called Sanshu no Jingi while the regular weapons are probably called either just jingi or shinki (which means the same thing but it more commonly used).
No problem.

Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!I mean we didn't spoiler mark some things.
And never mind, I probably got confused at what Pulse meant. I just agree that the description is entirely accurate. The Japanese Trophies are the same as the American ones to my knowledge. Had no real issues beyond maybe "Weapons" vs "Sacred Treasures", but they meant the same thing overall.
Shadow?Yoshi glitches? Please tell me how they work. I wanna be better with Yoshi.
Call me butter, because I am on a roll! 3ds friend code: 5258-0885-3903 Wii U: Bowser CharizardIn regards to custom moves:
Thunder+ is pretty much my Neutral of choice. It's got power, and the diminished amount of uses just mean you get to throw your tome sooner. Fire Wall or Arcfire are my Side Specials of choice for their zoning capabilities and, in Fire Wall's case, defensive capabilities. Elwind or Gliding Elwind are the Up Specials of choice, though I think normal Elwind slightly out-edges Gliding Elwind. Of the Down Special customs, the default Nosferatu is the clear winner here, with healing that scales as your damage gets higher, though I also use Goetia for variety purposes.
