So, apparently Conquest mode counts whichever fighter you contributed the most points to or something. I made sure to play as Sonic, Shiek and Greninja's in the one that just ended, and it didn't count my using Greninja in the victory screen. I contributed 6 points to Shiek, 5 to Sonic, and 2 to Greninja.
How should I use equipment in this game?
Like, I heard that apparently it's the popular thing to beef up Bowser with defensive equipment because he's slow anyway, for example.
I'm (trying) to use the Mii Swordfighter (who is tall and thin, I heard your Mii's size ratios affect how it works or something but I don't know anything concrete about that), Dark Pit (because black hair > brown hair...no other reason, really) and Robin (if I ever manage to get that annoying use management thing down.)
I'm usually getting up close with the Mii Swordfighter so I was thinking speed, but I don't really seem to have any moves on it that can ring out other fighters well so Attack might be more important to compensate. I heard Robin is more of a range person and is really slow so I'm guessing Attack would be the most useful? And no idea about what I should get Dark Pit.

MMORPGs are serious business. You need to spoiler tag Dark Pit there. He hasn't been officially revealed yet. Also, Pit has a black haired alt. :P
You should base your equipment out of what you want for the character you're building, in my opinion. Some people like to load up on Attack/Speed gear and blitz through everything, others (like me usually) try to make sure the stats are balanced so that there isn't a drastic change in how the character plays. Still others simply use equipment that gives particular bonus benefits (like Auto-Healer or Critical Hitter). So it's really up to you (and I suppose what modes you plan to use the equipment in; I have different set ups based on whether I'm doing Classic Mode or Smash Run... And I don't use equipment for regular battles).

I figured that with how quickly I managed to get Dark Pit unlocked it wouldn't really be a problem except for people who don't have the game, sorry. I wasn't able to find a black haired Pit alt though. Maybe I just didn't press the alternate color button enough?

For the sake of argument, he pretty much was.

"Tell them to shut up and have some faith in me." - dead flashback guyRight, but considering how much of a shitstorm Dark Pit's presence in the ESRB leak's roster caused (mostly because a lot of people were expecting him to be Pit's alt, ala Olimar & Alph, instead of being a separate character), apparently that isn't enough (same deal with Mr. Game & Watch showing up in Pac-Man's trailer). From what I've understood, he'll need to show up in a Miiverse post, a Direct/Treehouse stream, or in one of the "official" pic dumps (where he's a central character in a set of them, which will probably happen alongside Dr. Mario and Mr. Game & Watch) before he's considered "revealed", as far as this thread is concerned.

It's his fifth alt color.

If his name didn't get caption'd(veterans aside), he's not revealed. Besides, his profile didn't go up right after the trailer, so it was not a reveal by the site's standards alone. Same with Mr. Game & Watch.
Anyway, All-Star seems a lot easier. I'm guessing because you have to fight around 7 guys at once, so they had to make it more reasonable, even on Hard.
Shadow?Smashing too hard I see...sorry to hear that.

Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!I can't quite understand what the game's telling me about the update. Does it mean that it will no longer tell us who is ahead while a conquest is still in progress?
If so, that makes sense, because it means that whatever way the conquest went in the first few hours was the way the conquest would go, period, as the winner/loser side became apparent fast.
That's exactly what the update does
, which is how it should've been from the start.

x4: My inner 12-year-old is dying right now XD
x6 Dangit, the inner 12 year old in me took about 5 minutes to figure out that was an innuendo joke!
And that VG Cats comic on the 8 player is so true. I'm so excited about 8 player, but I don't know how I'm going to find 8 players to play it with. I have friends I hang out with, but there's not 8 of them.

. Granted, you need to order the replacement part and have the right size screwdriver, but it's a lot cheaper than a new system. I used the site to fix my R button so I can vouch for the site's reliability.

I'm a big fan of Sakurai's wife's menu design, personally. It's neat and organized yet fun and interactive.
