Also two other clones.
Said clones were evidently last-minute additions so I can't bring myself to be too mad over it.
The clones/semi-clones that were planned from the start all have distinct custom specials, for the most part. Fox and Falco each have an alternate Standard special that changes their blaster's properties to the other team member's and Captain Falcon has a slower, stronger Falcon Punch that I guess is a bit like Warlock Punch.

I sure said that!So before we have another clone discussion, there's something I'd like to bring up.
8-player Smash is cool and chaotic and all...but imagine what the competitive scene can do with this. 4v4 tournament. Legit teams a la MOB As and stuff.
I want to be in on this.
Oh man. 4v4 team battles are going to be so insane. Watching those with tourney-level players will be amazing.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!![]()
To the point where I kinda doubt 4v4 tourneys are going to be at all frequent.
Anyway, I myself am more interested in the sheer amount of new TAS potential.
"Tell them to shut up and have some faith in me." - dead flashback guyI recall also seeing some 3+ ones, but I can't seem to find them right now.

Those started out fairly interesting and then became completely insane during Sudden Death. The first and third ones especially.

Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!I got~ the game~
I think I'm doing okay for someone who's 99% noob to this game (not that I've done much but at least I feel like I'm learning something)
although I am weirded the hell out of the maps since the only fighting game I am used to is the kind where all the stages are flat platforms
but anyway
why are there two jump buttons in the options? (I would prefer two shield buttons since for some weird reason I seem to keep trying to press R to shield at crucial moments when I put it on A but when I switch it back to R I keep pressing A for no reason...)
MMORPGs are serious business.Tap jump is easier to use for people who can't effectively use the X or Y buttons...some others would prefer Tap jump off to do tilts easier.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Melee had two jump buttons. Brawl too if you used the Gamecube controller.
Whatever feels more comfortable. I like it because wherever your finger is, it's right there.
And 64 had four in the C buttons.

You gotta believe me when I scare you away, all that I wish for is that you would stayOf course.
This is the 1st and probably only time there'll be a handheld one. The only thing missing is a right stick. If only there was one.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. There's two jump buttons because there are only so many actions you can preform: Jump, Attack, Special, Shield, Grab, and Taunt. In Melee, there were seven buttons plus the control pad so something was going to get doubled.
The controls should be fully customizable so you can make one of the jump buttons something else, if you want.

For the record:
Semiclones: Luigi, Toon Link, Ganondorf, and Falco
Clones: Dr. Mario, Lucina, and Dark Pit
The semiclones get mostly distinct custom moves. Clones typically borrow custom moves from their parents which in Dr. Mario's case makes him borrow from both Mario and Luigi. I'll note custom moves I've found to be similiar to the parent and vice versa:
Mario & Luigi: Bouncing Fireball is very similiar to Mario's normal Fireball, but Luigi throws them at a higher point and slightly upwards which gives them more bounce. Their other custom moves are entirely unique to themselves.
Link & Toon Link: Link gets a Boomerang that resembles Toon Link's Boomerang. Not that surprising since that's basically giving Link his old Boomerang back.
Cpt. Falcon & Ganondorf: Cpt. Falcon gets a neutral custom variant that resembles the Warlock Punch in function, if not in animation. Ganondorf's Flame Wave resembles his old Side B, which was a clone of Falcon's Side B.
Fox & Falco: Both get Blaster customs that make them resemble the other's Blaster.
Mario, Luigi & Dr. Mario: Dr. Mario's customs are taken from Mario (Neutral, Side, and Up Special variants) and Luigi (Down Special variants). However, the Neutral and Side customs were altered to make use of Dr. Mario's respective properties instead of the parent character since his default Neutral and Side Specials have different properties from Mario's, and his Up Special is different in function from both Mario and Luigi's Up Specials. Most of them are also differently named though that's purely an aesthetic change.
Marth & Lucina: The default specials (with the exception of Counter which is practically the same thing for both) make use of their blades' properties. However, Lucina cribs every custom she has from Marth. In fact, the custom moves for Marth and Lucina do not make use of their blades' properties at all and which makes them completely the same in function (though Lucina's customs might have worse vertical range like Lucina's attacks tend to have). The only exception to the rule are the Side Special custom variants: The properties of their blades are used for these.
Pit & Dark Pit: Dark Pit's customs borrow heavily from Pit's, though the Side Specials keep their own properties and the Neutral and Up Special customs are visually different from Pit's. His default Neutral Special is also a variant of Pit's.

Though Link got a speed buff, Toon Link is still better because he's still faster.
