More on Wii U's Classic mode.

Hey, Classic mode has 8-fighter battles!

Wasn't there a separate Smash thread for multiplayer?

Classic mode is single player.

[up] You can do single or two player classic in the Wii U version, but Wii U's Classic can have fights with up to 8 fighters (your self, a friend, and CP Us) alongside the standard fights.

Yeah, that's regular Single Player mode. Even if it's more "in name only".

Regardless, as some were starters in the Wii U version, he dropped a few more. Before putting them on the website. XD

Rival system?

Too bad it's randomized. Less chance to build the head-canon.

On the contrary, I think it frees up lots of space for putting a plot to a particularly good run of Classic.

I sure said that!

For Classic mode, I'd prefer it to be random, to prevent things from getting too stale. Though defined 'rival battles' would be a nice addition, I'm not sure where they could fit...

It reminds me a little of the Rival system from F-Zero X and GX' Grand Prix modes, though there it was more basic- Whichever CPU racer was in first, or second if it was you, got a boost to their AI and would be more aggressive with attacks if you were in range, basically.

Mario Kart has done that too. Could be interesting.

I just miss mini-games during Classic. Well, the series has changed.

So wait, the Wii U classic mode has a rival system in classic mode, but why are there challenges in the 3DS version asking me to do things in a "Rival Smash" mode? I can't figure out for the life of me what I'm supposed to do with those.

Edit: Nevermind, I googled it. Probably should have done that first. tongue

Looking at the Miiverse pics, I see that a couple of fighters (Luigi and Rosalina) have icons that indicate money and Custom items. I wonder if this means that there isn't a roulette to deal with for Wii U Classic mode.

No, there is. They briefly showed the roulette during the 50 fact thing.

So, what's the highest boost you guys have seen for Equipment? So far, my highest is an 85, but that's with a 55 penalty. Don't remember the equip type, but I'm not using it at the moment anyway. I just got myself a pair of Expensive Boots with a boost value of 82 and an attack penalty of 43.

The footage of Classic Mode from the Direct has the roulette.

I'm guessing the coin and custom icons next to the characters indicate that you're guaranteed to get whatever the icon indicates as a reward. Kind of like the equivalent of trophies on the branching paths in the 3DS Classic Mode.

Now do it with Falcon Vs Mac and we'll really have something.

Maybe throw in a few well-timed clips from one of the many Counter users for Dio's mudamudamudamuda

Speaking of Jojo, I hear the music used in this Bowser Jr. montage is from that anime.

Wasn't there a separate Smash thread for multiplayer?

Oh crap, I felt like the title might've been misleading.

You might have already figured this out now, but that was a thread I made to set up Smash matches with other Tropers. To avoid spamming these threads with them.

Not meant to be a discussion thread.

Really? I guess I can see him being more polite about it, but I didn't think it was that blunt.

I've found someone who's making Super Move Portrait Attack drawings for the cast of Smash. Looking pretty cool, I gotta say. Just in case, there are some still unannounced characters in there.

Seriously, this game looks absolutely insane. It will definitely make for a great Thanksgiving event. grin

Also, I know that this is a rather late question to ask, but what are your thoughts on the roster? Similar to these guys or not?
