If I'm honest, trying to spoil stuff in a fighting game is bit eh to me. What is there to really spoil which isn't good to know beforehand? But hey, that's just me.
Also, since I think amiibo Link will have something to do with Hyrule Warriors, I wonder if similar things will happen with other amiibos. Like Bowser Junior amiibo unlocks a Koopa Clown Kart in Mario Kart 8.
Chances are, yeah. I mean, they probably would need to know somehow that you have both games.

Only sometimes posts![]()
Master Core - or at least its presence - was already shown through various other official sources beforehand. And if nothing else, at least we get concrete names for all of its forms.
As for M2, we have virtually no information about him other than his release and the "free" offer (even the paid DLC option is just inference, as far as I can tell), so it'd be better to just wait for more info.

Oh, there's still more than enough things that irk me about these games, as can also be seen from recent posts. It's just that instead of trying to start something out of nowhere, I'm just continuing to spend my time being a facetious goof about stances I find questionable.

"Tell them to shut up and have some faith in me." - dead flashback guyLink to my last post since I failed to realize it was at the bottom.
I'm also in the camp that found the game's announcer/Master Hand being the presenter of the Direct to be the best thing. It makes me wish that Master Hand and Crazy Hand taunted you during battle. Other things I liked were the abundance of multiplayer (co-op) modes, the return of Special Battles, Event Mode, and Tournament Mode. The Koopa Clown Car trailer was also awesome, especially since it inspired people to make things like this.
Also, my personal fan theory for those Newcomer trailers is that Mario is taking teams of fighters to scout out potential newcomers for the fights in the Smash-verse. Characters that he didn't look for (like Pac-Man, Villager, Rosalina, and Little Mac) other decided to join in themselves or were invited by him.
Things I didn't like (or were "meh" towards) were:
- Smash Tour: I love Smash Run, but after seeing this, I kind of feel like that the Wii U and 3DS versions had their unique modes switched, since Tour looks more like something I'd expect on the handheld version. Hopefully it'll be fun when I get a chance to play it, but as it stands, I'm in the camp that thinks that it looks a little too... random, I guess. But then, that's just like Mario Party, which I love, so I guess I'll withhold my full judgment until later.
- Classic Mode: I think I was more confused by how it works than anything. Maybe I should watch the Direct again, but I just remember being unimpressed by what I was seeing. At least it's two player now.
@Yomegami: Master Core was actually shown (in full) before the 3DS version was released. However, that was part of an 8 hour stream, which apparently had less people watching (which also meant that we were spoiler tagging Master Core and its forms despite the boss being officially revealed by Nintendo beforehand).
And to be fair, they've been playing up Smash U & 3DS as being companion games from the start. Showing Master Fortress would give more of an incentive (although how much of an incentive will, of course, vary from person to person) for 3DS players to get the Wii U version, since it'd be more likely that those players had beat Master Core and all its forms to hell and back by now.
EDIT:
This is true. It seems the Star Fox characters will just start chatting on their own this time.

I just saw the trailers...
Oh my God! Ridley is even more awesome than I imagined! I knew he'd be a boss, but to think he could actually become my ally... Master Ridley fighting by my side... and playing the traitorous dragon if it's in my favor... kekekekeke...
Also, MEWTWO! I am so happy! I've always wanted Mewtwo back even if I didn't vocally express it too much. In a few months, he will be mine... Even now that my Club Nintendo account doesn't work for some reason, I don't care! I'll pay for him if I have to!
8 Player Smashes, Master/Crazy Order, etc... Awesome! It's too much to name!
And the announcer telling us this all. His voice is so cool even if he's calm! It's also slightly unnerving, which I like.
And Bowser Jr's trailer is so awesome! Have I said awesome enough already? Sorry, I'm just HYPED!
...My apologies for this outburst and wall of text... it's just so rare for me to actually be this excited over something.

In the year 202X, all is devastation... Soon, any last shred of hope had by the saintliest optimist shall die and decay. It's their own way to shame you out of taking the easy option.
Though i've noted easy difficulties for the 3DS game in general. Several of the character unlock conditions involved me using people i'd never really used before.
Hopefully means that 9.0 difficulty is doable if i stick to easy matchups/avoid Crazy Hand.
Oh yeah, I barely even had time to process how awesome it is for me that all those Single-Player modes can be played cooperatively now! I'll be living with a friend soon who's not a gamer at all and whose skill level could probably be best described as "knows how to operate the game", but he liked playing Brawl with me a few times and I've dealt with a much worse player in my regular sessions of coop All-Star mode with my father many years ago... And now All-Star doesn't even throw bombs in your face all the time!
I forgot to criticize masterpieces, so let me fix that real fast.
Three words: Waste of space.
What is a fandom? A miserable little pile of flame wars! 3DS FC: 0387-9377-7408 PSN ID: Raven King SageI never touched the masterpieces in Brawl and probably won't touch them here. That being said I don't mind that they're present.
What I'm a little ancy about is voice chat. While I approve of its inclusion (definitely a hell of a lot better than taunt messages), it's not making my extremely socially anxious self feel any better about finding matches.
Icon by Civvi the Civilian!I'm getting some severe Anarchy Reigns vibes from this mode for some reason.

Yes they also confirmed guest appearances by characters like Chrom in the Palutena's Temple stage.
It was funny when Pit was versing Shulk because Palutena was talking about Shulk and Pit used Reyn's catch-phrase "What a bunch of Jokers."
Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureI'll touch Masterpieces! About once, but still. I like to be able to just get a feel for stuff even if I don't want to consume the entire work. I'll sometimes buy the first volumes of manga series I don't know when they're on sale, too. So I'll gladly take a chance to play some five minutes of Kid Icarus just to see how playing Kid Icarus feels.

You could just turn voice chat off.
Also, I don't see the problem with Masterpieces, it's not like a lot of development time went into them and considering this is a series that celebrates Nintendo's history, it's nothing but appropriate for them to be in the game.

After watching the direct myself, my only real complaint is that they felt the need to spoil Master Core and all of its forms. That's the sort of thing that needs to be hidden to have the best effect. If nothing else, keeping Master Fortress under wraps would have been a good idea; then when that showed up it'd knock everyone's socks off just like when the rest of Master Core did when we first found out about it.
Apart from that, I'm pretty hype. Even the fact that Ridley's not playable isn't much of a disapointment; I do like how he actually got implemented. Also, I agree that having the announcer voice the direct was the best part.
One thing that's confusing me, though: In the direct, it sounded like the only requirement for a (free) Mewtwo is having both versions, while registering with Club Nintendo is for the soundtrack. Yet I've been hearing that you need to register with Club Nintendo for (free) Mewtwo as well. Is Club Nintendo a requirement for (free) Mewtwo or not?
