The Wii U version will certainly have more stages. That's a given. The wiki only has that many listed because that's all we know of at this moment.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book! Some notes (and trivia) on Equipment types:

The Boots are the equipment shared between most characters.
The Gloves and the Sword have both an equal amount of wielders, but the Gloves are wielded by more unlockable characters than the Sword so the Sword can initially be equipped by more characters.
Robin is the only Fire Emblem character that doesn't have the same equipment type options as the other characters of his series. (Marth, Ike, and Lucina all share their equipment options with each other.)
The X Attack, X Defense, and X Speed equipment can all be used only by characters that come from the same series and they are all shared between the very same characters.
Charizard is the only character who has three types of equipment options for a specific stat type. His options are otherwise the same as the rest of the Pokémon characters.
Peach, Yoshi, Diddy Kong, Zero Suit Samus, Kirby, Meta Knight, King Dedede, Ness, Robin, Olimar, Little Mac, Villager, Wii Fit Trainer, and Sonic, Mr. Game & Watch, ROB, Bowser Jr, and the Duck Hunt Duo all have equipment types that can only be used by them.
The Gloves and the Sword are the most shared Attack Type Equipment at 8 each, the Jacket is the most shared Defense Type Equipment at 6, and the Boots is the most shared Speed Type Equipment at 15. Discounting the Mii Fighters makes X Defense the most shared Defense Type Equipment at 5, reduces the Gloves and Sword by 1 each, and the Boots by 3 though they are still the equipment types shared by the most characters.
The Mii Gunner is the only Mii class who has an equipment type not shared between six or more people. They are also the only Mii Class to use an equipment type that's not the most shared equipment type for that stat type.
Wario is the only character whose equipment options are shared with characters that represent another series: Mario and Luigi.
Dr. Mario is the only clone who doesn't share all equipment options with the parent character.
Mr. Game & Watch is the only character whose exclusive equipment options are all exclusive to him.

Fantastic Supreme Überkaiser Emperor Folt of The Infinity and Beyond" ... "The First"!For the record, Mr. Game & Watch' equipment types are the Microchip, Watch Battery, and Torch.
I wonder why the Microchip isn't shared with R.O.B., though. Huh...

Are explosions science?I have to wonder, will the Wii U version of Super Smash Bros. 4 have the same soundtrack as the 3DS, or will it be different?
On another note, this installment to me at least feels like they're incorporating both aspects of Melee and Brawl...which works better than I thought it would.
Living The Fever DreamI don't know, I just for some reason wanted Captain Falcon's victory fanfare to be a remixed sting of the first 3-5 seconds of his GX theme. Wouldn't be as iconic I guess though.
And what I meant about incorporating aspects of both Melee and Brawl...to me Melee music for the most part felt lighter and more like a friendly competition, while brawl's music at times felt like it was trying to go for an edgier, more serious feel. But that's just my opinion.
Living The Fever Dream![]()
Funny that each turned out to be the exact opposite of the game itself in that aspect. Melee was an intense battle of wits and reflexes, and Brawl was a lighthearted party game.

"It's liberating, realizing you never need to be competent." — UltimatepheerPutting in Falcon's GX theme would be rad but you know what else woudl be rad? I know its a pipedream but if they could wangle the license issues, I'd love Nintendo to put in "Meaning of Truth", the F Zero GP Legend Japanese opening. Ya know, that song that played during the Falcon Punch bit.
Are explosions science?I felt the opposite. Now to me Melee feels so heavy and sticky and Brawl feels so light and airy.
4 is in the middle. Strong but fast.
Don't know how to describe 64 though. You can't hold smashes and there are no side specials. It's like... so young.
Which is ironic because it's now the oldest.

4 is fast? Are... Are we talking about the same 4?

Also Marth was in an old Fire Emblem OVA from god knows how long ago. Heck thats when he was first voiced by Hikaru Midorikawa IIRC.
Are explosions science?
I watched that before. It was released for a limited run in English and he was called "Mars" back then.
Shit yeah,
Imagine if they actually gave him an English voice for 4 and brought back Spike Spencer to boot.
Most of the voices are decent enough quality that they could just be remastered a bit. Even Marth's 2001 Melee stuff. As for Fox, I guess consistency or something since he does sound more like his old SF 64 VA (Kinda why Sonic is now Roger Craig Smith as well though if Snake was in I wouldn't see them getting Kiefer Sutherland to do new voices for this.) I miss Boston Pheasant Falco tho

Are explosions science?I don't know, it seems like even though both aspects of melee and brawl are in the 3DS version, Super Smash Bros 3DS seems to retain more callbacks to melee than anything. I have to wonder if this means the Wii U version will be more in tune with Brawl. Sorry if it's obvious that I have a bias towards brawl, I knew it more and preferred the main theme of it. It's also how I discovered Pikmin, Metroid, Fire Emblem and F-Zero.
Living The Fever DreamI at least get the reasoning for Fox and most of his lines are fine, but... The knockback grunts and "Fire!" are just so mismatched...

Presently, Smash on Wii U doesn't seem to have a stage for Donkey Kong, Yoshi, or Captain Falcon...I hope they remedy that.
Smash Wiki is showing 34 stages for 3DS and only 25 for Wii U. With any luck there will be as many or hopefully even more by the time they release it.
