I really wish the Gunner's graphical effects where less obviously sci-fi when you're using the Steampunk Getup or the Dragon Armor or the Mage's Robes.

I sure said that!

The Steampunk outfit matches Heather's clothes oddly well. I love when an aesthetic coincidence like that happens.

What do I need to do to unlock the Steampunk Outfit?

Speaking of gunner mii, I went and made a gunner of Old Lady Gibson with the mech outfit and Volga with, what else, the dragon armor.

I haven't really tried to make Miis based on characters from other series, I'm not very good with that tongue

So, anyone got any ideas for naming the sample Brawler and Swordfighter Miis? The sample Gunner is Sophia, based on a few Pics of the Day.

... I'm a strange person who's vaguely interested in getting them in my copy, y'see.

EDIT: Ended up opting for calling 'em Jack and Tim. Don't know why, but eh, somewhat general names for fairly general characters, I guess.

So in my idle thoughts I started thinking of a character I didn't know I wanted in Smash even though it's never ever going to happen: Shovel Knight.

I realized he would translate really well into Smash and now I'm sad because it's never going to happen tongue

OH! And his final smash would be his god mode cheat code, complete with air bubbles and being able to walk on the instant death pit.

That video from the previous page was hilarious, but I can't say I blame Sakurai for wanting to stop that kind of thing with later installments. That's a really dumb way to win, it got tiresome to watch, and I'm glad the Samus player won because he actually, you know, tried to fight the whole time.

Naw man. Final Smash would be a team attack with Shield Knight.

I have a message from another time...

[up] His Final Smash could be stunning the opponent with the War Horn followed by Shield Knight and Black Knight showing up for a trio attack. It would be like Shulk's Final Smash but easier to hit with tongue

So I don't know if I'm an aberration or getting a 40 combo in training for that challenge is actually tough, but I found a cheesy way: spawn several power bombs next to the other guy and set 'em off. Gets like 100 hits.

Y'know, I kinda hope that, if Shulk comes back for Smash V, his FS is expanded into a chain attack with everyone from the playable party in Xenoblade. Keep Seven in silhouette or something if spoilers are still up by then.

I sure said that!

There's another way to get well over 100 combos. Pick a character that has fast grab attacks (Yoshi and Little Mac come to mind). Set the damage to 999% and grab the opponent. Start start pressing the attack button like crazy. When the combo reaches 70 to 80, start spamming B-bombs. If they go off, that should put you well over 100.

Also, as other tourney players have said, actually reliably pulling off that combo is incredibly difficult. It's not something even remotely easy for even the top tier players (and they wouldn't use it anyway since it's too cheap).

Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!
