Also, the current discussion and the first portion of your post that I didn't quote reminded of a Reddit link that I haven't read yet but have had the tab up for a while now.
EDIT:For the record, the topic in the link is just someone offering advice on the common complaint that the game values overly defensive play (it does to an extent, but not as much as people would have you believe), as well as being another person who dislikes the idea that we can call what kind of meta 4 will have this early.

Personally I expect the meta to only get worse as things develop, but yeah. I'm just in a bad mood right now. I'd gladly agree with you, but. Yeah.
... One thing that made me happy in the tournament was that Ember managed to win (relatively handily) against Bill's DHD with Zelda. I was really cheering for him because he just... seemed like a really sweet guy? With that smile and that toon Zelda plush and all. So I'm glad he at least got to have that after the depressing defeat at the hands of Dabuz.
So, I took on Master Core for the first time today. I made two attempts with Ganon, one accidentally no Customs and another with an Attack-oriented Ganon. Both times I lost one stock against the giant, and was finished off by the swords. I feel like using the Customs was definitely easier though. I might try going Defense the next time through.
Also, I'm suicidal because I'm simultaneously trying to clear the "Defeat Master Core" and the "Beat Classic at 9.0" challenges.
Why spoiler? The game is out.

you know in pretty much every thread ever about a game that isnt specifically dedicated to spoilers, spoiler policy remains in place for at least a month after the game comes out. even after that month, people tend to go out of their way to spoiler tag anything they think is a spoiler if they're talking to people who might not have played the game yet.
you are in a thread which is one of two- the other being a spoiler and leak specific thread.
one of the versions is not out yet.
the other version hasnt even been out a month yet.
and not everyone has got the game yet.
thats why you have to spoilertag this stuff.
course, smash 4 has a set of more complicated spoiler rules than usual, on account of things being deemed "safe" at random intervals and people tend to forget every few minutes which one that was at any given time. but you can just as easily avoid the complication by just talking about this stuff in the spoiler thread.

Still reportedly tied with Ganon, yes.
"Tell them to shut up and have some faith in me." - dead flashback guyMains, you say? Well, obviously Mario (especially because of his buffs) and Wario (despite removing the only reference to Wario Land) still are mine. Very fond of Little Mac (mostly because of my love for his home series, and him being an absolute killer in this game). Captain Falcon's probably #4 due to my F Zero fandom and his being buffed from Brawl.
I really like Duck Hunt more than I thought I would. So adorable and fun to play as. Might be maining them.
Those girls in the back are from Fatal Frame.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectI've been listening to Kapp'n's Song again, and I really hope there's some more K.K. Slider songs like it and Brawl's Go K.K. Rider! in the Wii U game. There's something really neat about elaborate instrumental compositions accompanied by the Animalese vocals.

I sure said that!Couple of things I just noticed while playing Smash Run. The first is if you jump on one of the Tiki enemies from Donkey Kong Country Returns, it'll produce the same sound effect from their home game. Since I never really jump on them (they're airborne, so I just knock 'em out of the air), I thought it was neat.
The second is if you reflect a Starman's PK Beam back at it (as a Tip tells you to, although I hadn't gotten that tip until after I did this), not only will it go down in one hit, but the "SMAAAAASH!" text from Earthbound pops up behind it while it recoils. There's an accompanying sound effect for that too, but I haven't been able to hear it since I'm usually fighting off other enemies when this happens.
Here's hoping. I remember when I played Brawl and thought those songs sounded so weird, but that I've played New Leaf, they've become some of my favorite songs in that game.

A bunch of older features aren't in the 3DS version, apparently.

The thing is, I also want to play the game how I like, but the game is teaching me that the way I want to play it just doesn't work most of the time and will only result in frustration. That is the problem at hand here.
