It's already been conclusively proven that no he doesn't.
Did you by any chance hit with the tip? Both characters have a tipper on that one attack; striking in different hit boxes could create the illusion that one is stronger.

...you're right, what the hell. I've been lied to.
The following is measured against Samus at Omega Flat Zone 2 at 25, 50, and 75%. Unit of measurement is the stage's highly visible black bricks.
Key: sourspot sweetspot
25%:
Parent: 2 bricks 3 bricks
Clone: 1.2 bricks 1.5 bricks
50%:
Parent: 3.2 bricks 6.5 bricks
Clone: 1.5 bricks 2.8 bricks
75%:
Parent: 5.1 bricks 7 bricks
Clone: 2.2 bricks 5 bricks
I guess Sakurai did change some things. Sorry for doubting you. This is a good thing, a very good thing.

"It's liberating, realizing you never need to be competent." — UltimatepheerMan, I always wanted to use Rosalina, but I was unsure if I was going to be able to use her well. To my surprise I am doing consistently well with her, even more than Pikachu. I like the way she moves and attacks, even without Luma. With Luma it's not too hard to rack up extra damage or have an emergency shield. Love her.
Robin sadly isn't working out for me. I'll be trying him out more, but ultimately I think he just attacks too slowly for me.
robin is slow to move and slow to attack. his/her range is also pretty bad, melee wise. its incredibly hard to make use of that levin sword during smashes because virtually everyone can attack faster than you and start before you're in range for your smash.
this is, i suppose, where you're supposed to take advantage of the fact that robin is the only character who can smash while in the air, but eeeh.
use of thoron relies heavily on wether or not the enemy will leave you be till it charges, though elthunder, arc thunder and thunder are all useful on their own.
arcfire is useful unless you're in the air, in which case its often a crapshoot similar to ness's pk fire. nosferatu again relies heavily on being able to get close enough without being hit or grabbed first, and if theres another enemy you will be interrupted before you can do much with it.
elwind is pretty cool, actually. if someone launches you and then tries to finish you off, its very possible to elwind them to their deserved deaths, and its nice to send someone flying with elwind any other time too.
robin is actually quite powerful, but painfully slow and impossible to spam with. well, not without crippling yourself. ive yet to fall to my death because i spammed up-b but i think ive come close at least one and one of her neutral attack finishers uses up a sizeable amount of uses of her wind tome anyway.

As much as I've played with Robin, I'd say that he should use Arcfire to give himself some breathing room for Thunder spells and Levin Sword, and also to force the opponent to go by his flow and make mistakes you can punish. Nosferatu works well to punish stupid mistakes and get some valuable percents if you're damaged, and Levin bair, Levin uair and Levin down smash are good moves for their range and (in down smash's case) power. Ohter than that, his tilts seem to be designed for keeping the opponent away and get them into the range of which Robin prefers, so make use of that as well.
Also, I finally beat all of Master Core's forms with Robin (not a custom one this time). The beast, sword, and doppelganger gave me the most problems the times I tried it, though I had to remember that the beast is mostly ground-based, the sword only really has one or two attacks that can KO you, and the doppelganger doesn't handle Arcfire that well (enough that I can get some levels of the Thunder spell charged).
And I'm now convinced that 7.5 is the real point where you start seeing all of Master Core's forms, as I tried on 7.1 and it started at the beast.
Fantastic Supreme Überkaiser Emperor Folt of The Infinity and Beyond" ... "The First"!Fuck that "20 First place Smash Run" challenge. I played it four times today, got tired of dying constantly from the mobs in the collection bit, so I beefed up my defenses for the second go. The final battle was a fucking race, and I just rage quit the instant the race started. The third time I increased my speed and ended up in a 300% Smash battle and lost quite badly. I don't know how many times I placed first overall, but I really fucking hate Smash Run overall.
And the moral of the story is to take it easy and not be in a rush to complete challenges. Though I will say that the display of bad luck made me snicker a bit and now I feel bad for it.
I think people are overestimating the mobs a bit too much, if you just ignore the big ones or use powers to take them out the enemies aren't that bad.
My favorite is Jack Sparrow.
You gotta believe me when I scare you away, all that I wish for is that you would stay

@ Irene: That's what i'm going by; If a character gets directly involved with the Miiverse posts <ie. Ness and Ganon>, then it's OK, but the others <ie. ROB, Falco and the non-Lucina clones> are tagged until either they are or when Smash U drops. The only ones i'm on the fence about are Jiggz and Jr., since they kinda got inadvertently revealed spoiler-wall-free <possibly on accident>.
