Can I just say that the droprate of custom outfits are just dumb? Like, I decided to use Golden Hammer on "collect 3 custom outfits" because of that.

Robin is really powerful and versatile but mandates you learn how to use absolutely every move they have since they can be made unavailable.

I sure said that!

Here's how to use Robin.

Step 1: Connect with Arcfire. If unavailable, wait for Arcfire to come back.
Step 2: Convert into any attack.
Step 3: Profit.

Trying to resolve the quickest way to unlock everyone. Seems like outside of Ness and Wario, everyone is unlocked through beating classic mode with X character, maybe on 7.0 difficulty, or just beating it Y number of times.

You can unlock every character by playing a multiple of 10 Versus matches, too. The quickest way would probably be to give yourself one level 1 CPU opponent with handicap increased sky-high and then just lunge at them with Bowser.

Actually a new character is automatically unlocked after every 10 battles[nja]

@Damasca

No that's how you switch between the normal and Omega stages. Some stages have multiple varients like Boxing Ring which has a Smash Bros variant and a Punch Out! variant. Boxing Ring is set to the Punch Out! variant by default and pressing X gives me the Omega version of that but I want to know is how to switch to the Smash Bros version of the stage.

Holding L while selecting the stage gives you the Smash Bros. version.

And on a related note, is there any way to play alternate music outside of Smash mode? Holding R doesn't seem to work in Classic.

Basically to unlock characters there seem to be two methods :

  • lot of smash games
  • adventure mode at high difficulty level with many different characters

I got Lucina, Falco, Wario, Ness and Dark Pit so far

My bad. Since they had been announced, I did not know I still had to spoiler tag them.

But they were announced as spoilers. They're listed on the site as hidden characters.

Getting real tired of this shit. The roster is the same for both versions. By the time the Wii U version is out everybody will already know who's in the game.

'But what about the people who don't want to get spoiled?'

Unless they start living under a rock, they are more than likely to come across secret characters or rewards regarding the game anyways. Even then, they might get the 3DS version as well or have someone who tells them about the cast. Building on that, they might know the entire cast already but not care.

If Nintendo themselves post all of the secret characters, I see no good reason for us to sugarcoat it ourselves. Ultimately it's up to the person if they want to be spoiled or not.

It's called courtesy. Just because they might get spoiled doesn't mean we should be ones to do it.

Ultimately it's up to the person if they want to be spoiled or not.

a choice that person cant make if people refuse to spoiler tag in the first place.

course, the real problem here is that not everyone is actually sure what is and isnt a spoiler because of the type of game this is.

And it's not even about the Wii U version entirely. Not everyone has unlocked all the characters. They want to be surprised.

I'm not saying post them everywhere we go. I'm saying that if we mention them once in a while it shouldn't be an issue because even casual fans might stumble across the secrets. We shouldn't have strict guidelines for spoilers because by the time the other version comes out they won't be spoilers anymore.

And who cares about the people who didn't know, right?

Anyway, whether one thinks we should or shouldn't have a thread for spoilers, we do have one, so let's use it.

I'm okay with people who slip up and use a spoiler, or say something that was more revealing than intended. What I don't like is knowing what's what and refusing.

I have a message from another time...

Blueblur, please stop it. You know the rules, and they aren't changing. I read both threads and have happily spoilered myself on everything but your comments are anathema to a lot of people, especially lurkers who comprise the great majority of readers of these threads.

If you deliberately post spoilers without tagging, I'll report.
