Speaking of FNAF's, I still think that Gamer stage could be a competitive stage, even with creepy 5-Volt as a hazard.

The stage with the platforms? Yeah, I can totally see that. 5-Volt may be a huge problem with that, but otherwise, it looks pretty damn stable.

It'd depend a lot on 5-Volt and her patterns. If it's anything like how she behaves in the original minigame (in which she doesn't appear often and the times she do is really predictable), this would be one interesting counterpick, with the shadows creating a sorta king-of-the-hill effect to the matchup that'll make it an interesting watch and make players act more aggressively so that they don't get scolded by 5-Volt.

True is that.

With enough warning, this stage would probably work. We also don't know if 5-Volt actually KO's you, so fingers crossed.

It's such a shame that a lot of the 3DS stages are so unorthodox (I'm looking at you, Gaur Plains) that Omega Stages and Battlefield seem like the only viable choices.

I just had one match with each available demo character against a random level 8 CPU, and I made two observations:

1. Even Megaman is easier for me to use than the Villager. At least with the blue guy you just kinda run in there guns blazing and wait for a good opening for a strong attack. With Villager, you just...?! ... I managed to at least get one KO with Megaman against Pikachu, while Villager against Pikachu ended up in a 0-0 Sudden Death that I lost, although Pika would've actually KO'd me once right as the timer ran out. (I got 2 KO's with Mario, 3 with Link and 2 with Pikachu, my demo "main". Both Link and Mario actually seem better, but Pikachu just feels fun to play for me.)

2. Random really favors the Villager. All three other matches were against them, and this is far from the first time they got the majority of Random opponents.

Villager is going to be impressive... In someone else's hands. Not mine. They have a lot of interesting defensive options, and they're Captain Falocn-level at edgeguarding thanks to their Forward Smash's infinite downwards range and Timber, but their overall ranges and hit properties are really weird, and while Lloid Rocket is a good distraction I don't think many people will actually be hit by it. Pocket's nifty, though.

Actually, using my knowledge of Marth from previous games, you may be onto something. Marth- And by extension, Lucina, who's very similar- Have more reach with their physical attacks than most of Villager's moves, but no projectiles for Villager to pocket, and while that normally would be an issue for dealing with Lloid Rocket, that projectile is slow to the point that Counter will probably keep that from being too much of a problem.

You'd only Counter if Villager was riding it. Otherwise, dodging or shielding works just fine. If you're quick on the draw, you could also use Counter to punish Silver Axe usage or, better yet, Bowling Ball usage (and maybe even his dash attack, depending on the start up). You also might be able to Counter the tree when it grows which would be very amusing.

Marth, Lucina, and Ike could shut down the Villager with relative ease (especially the first two since they're pretty fast). I could see them being counter picks like Palutena most certainly will be to Mega Man.

Villager's Rocket also doesn't have a hitbox for the beginning of the move. In many cases I often manage to grab Villager and avoid the rocket just by dashing at him when the move comes out.

Ah, duh, sorry. I've been putting off using the shield or dodge (or throws, come to think of it) in the 3DS demo to avoiding getting into the habit of using the wrong buttons before I swap 'em in the full game.

Palutena is another super awesome character I want to use. She's so funny and I love her design. Also, her trailer was one of the best.

Also, she's super cute.
