Have you guys ever tried downloading the entire soundtrack to the first three games AND Smashing...Live! and create an entire Itunes playlist of them?
I actually have, and here's the order for franchises:
SSB Opening themes/Battlefield/Final Destination
Smashing...LIVE Melee opening
Mario (including the main series, Golf/Tennis theme, Kart, Land, and Partners in Time. From the first three)
Smashing...LIVE Mario tracks
Donkey Kong (again, from the original three games)
Smashing...LIVE: Jungle Garden
Legend of Zelda tracks
Smashing...LIVE! Great Bay Temple
Metroid tracks
Smashing...LIVE! Depth of Brinstar
Yoshi's Island/Story tracks
Smashing...LIVE Yoshi's Story
Kirby tracks
Smashing...LIVE Kirby tracks
Star Fox tracks
Smashing...LIVE Star Fox tracks
Pokemon tracks
Smashing...LIVE Pokemon Medley
F-Zero Tracks
Earthbound tracks
Ice Climber tracks
Fire Emblem tracks
Smashing...LIVE Fire Emblem
Game and Watch Tracks
Wario Ware tracks
Kid Icarus Tracks
Pikmin tracks
Metal Gear tracks
Sonic the Hedgehog tracks
Animal Crossing Tracks
Other franchises (ie, ones represented by only stages or music in Brawl)
Smashing...Live Smash Bros. Great Medley
Super Smash bros. modes (Home run Contest, All Star, Training, etc.) and other fights (Metal fights, boss battles)
Smashing...LIVE Original Medley
Subspace Emissary
Credits themes
And here's how the order exactly works:
I start with any tracks from the N64 game, then I put Melee, then Brawl. (Example: The Mario tracks: I start with the two Mario tracks in the original, then any Melee tracks, then all of his Brawl remixes) And then I put that franchise's tracks from the Smashing...LIVE CD (if it has any), then i move onto the next franchise represented in Smash (IE: Donkey Kong). Lather, rinse, repeat. I'll add tracks from Smash 3DS when I get that game, and same for Wii U version.

AAAAUUUUGGGHHHH!!!!We'll see once people can put in lab work after the game's released. There will definitely be a bottom tier, but as of now, it seems like it won't consist of obviously "competitively terrible" characters this time around. I'm expecting a tier list for For will take longer to surface compared to previous titles because of this.

What is a fandom? A miserable little pile of flame wars! 3DS FC: 0387-9377-7408 PSN ID: Raven King SageJust play who you want to play, regardless if they're high tier or low tier. And I think calling someone SS tier this early on is way overdoing it. A Game-Breaker is really good, but a character that's really good is not always a Game-Breaker.
@powerpuffbats: So a playlist consisting of nothing but awesome renditions of awesome Nintendo tracks, as well as live renditions of said renditions? Awesome.
Also, noob question; what's the best Smash balance has ever been, before this?
"Curry killed the pussy hoping that I could kill the hate in you" - Curry, D. "TABOO | TA13OO." TA13OO, PH, 201864 probably had the best balance before? I'm no expert, but I think 64 pretty much followed the "make EVERYONE ridiculous" philosophy, which worked out okay. Competitively, I think Link and Samus are pretty much unusable, but Link is at least ridiculous at a non-competitive level, so it's less blatant?
Melee at least has lower tiers of which some have an ironically good match-up against the top-tier space animals when you take advanced techniques into account, although its balance really was shit when you just look at, say, Zelda and Sheik.
Brawl is, of course, the worst.
Ever.

There's just as much in other fighting games. It's just more noticeable here because of the Broken Base's warring definitions of fun. Other fighting games don't have a broken base in that area, so it's not shouted about as often.
When was the last time you saw a casual Ultra Street Fighter IV player for example?

"It's liberating, realizing you never need to be competent." — UltimatepheerSee the game on its own merits, instead of comparing it to a mainstream fighter. Ignore them street brawlers and trekkens for a sec;
On its own, the mechanics are deep enough to pick apart and analyse. And some people do have fun in examining the deeper parts of a game.
There.
