Previous games were a lot better about the boobplate as well. Just look at Caeda's Shadow Dragon artwork.

i think awakening is the first instance of boobplate at all in FE.

not the first instance of impractical designs mind you, but certainly the game with the highest frequency of impractical outfits

Yeah, I wasn't a huge fan of that.

Then again, they're apparently not a tight fit according to extraneous material, so they're not AS sternum-crunching as most depictions.

I sure said that!

I seem to recall one character having a chest plate with barely noticeable breasts but I can't remember who. And it was nowhere near Awakening's level.

Anyway, whoever said we should move on from this topic was probably right.

What this have to do with Smash I don't know. This is more suited for the FE thread.

On topic, I think Gamer can be a competitive stage.

[up]If 5-volt isn't too lethal, that is. That's the primary thing that banned Jungle Japes, the OHKO Klap Trap.

Seems the consensus from that thread is either "no" or "wait and see how it actually plays" (i.e. wait and see how 5 Volt actually affects the match). Even if it isn't competitive, the stage should have an Omega form anyway.

It's the little bouncing thing that periodically hops out of the raging river at the bottom of the screen. If you hit it, it seems to Meteor Smash you.

It should be easy to see if the screen has zoomed out enough.

A bunch of people are pushing for a more liberal stage list this time around, but I don't think it will come to pass. Smash's legal stage lists have always gotten more and more conservative over time — Look at the Abridged Arena Array image, and how most of the stages there are now bannednote .

I will never understand why only the boring stages are allowed.

Like, yeah, I get you want to keep randomness out. But what's so bad about, say, Hyrule Temple?

[up][up]Fast characters are untouchable. Fox and Falco can run around, blaster-camp, and win by percentage without breaking a sweat.

Also, the "caves of life" (areas where you can survive at absurdly high percents) can easily drag out a match.

Hyrule Temple is #BANNED because (to quote anti-Ridley people) it's too big. It encourages campy play with the players, which is a big competitive no-no.

[up][up]Wanna know what boring is? Watching two people camp for eight minutes. The stage list is supposed to make combatants cut to the chase and throw a damn punch already.

Fact: That's also the main reason Brawl was largely deemed competitively unviable as a game. Camping and abusing the time limit was extremely easy even on the "boring" stages.

Hyrule Temple is #BANNED because (to quote anti-Ridley people) it's too big. It encourages campy play with the players, which is a big competitive no-no.
There's also a loop in it- Theoretically, a player could score one kill then play keep-away by diving down one of the paths to the underside of the stage and running away from the opponent by heading out through the exit the opponent isn't using.

So yeah, a lot of it is "stages that are banned because assholes will abuse them and the time limit".

I wasn't being rude. If you take it that way that's your own fault. Smash Bros is meant to be fun, not have a bunch of people huddle up and decide which stage can be played on because some dicks like to camp.

I don't see how that can be interpreted as anything but rude. Besides, it's not my fault you don't see Smash Bros. as a competitive fighting game. I just don't appreciate you trying to shove your opinions against everyone as fact.
