As for today's pic, I can't help but feel that Sakurai made a subtle (if not accidental) lampshade on the fact that the Ninja Headband will probably one of the most prolific head choices among the Mii Fighters.
I'd be game for a Smash Tournament, but not so close to release. I want to unlock all characters and stages first.
Also, you know, actually getting good. Not much of a point to a competition where basically everyone is still trying to figure everything out.
Meanwhile, I've been playing the demo some lately. Love the changes they made to the existing characters, and Megaman should be a character to keep an eye on. Villager not so much, though. The only move Villager has on his moveset that I'm actually impressed with is his side smash for some incredible edge guarding.
Can't wait for October 3rd, when my special edition 3DS XL arrives.

villager's down b is pretty damn good, actually.
3 steps sure, but step 2 and step 3 and launch anyone pretty damn far, and step 3 really isnt hard to hit people with.
his neutral B pocket is pretty awesome too, not the least because it can block some final smashes.

I found the down-b to be pretty darn impractical at all stages, and can be avoided by simply not standing near the sprout/tree. The axe is fine, but taking a break in the middle of combat to do gardening to get temporary access to a somewhat decent attack doesn't seem like a good strategy.
Now, pocketing is pretty potent. Haven't been doing much with it on items, but I like the way it works on projectiles. I also like their dash attack, with the flower pot, which is again some fun edge guarding. And a fairly fast grab at decent range.
Basically, Villager has some neat tricks up their sleeves, and should be at least workable, but I just don't think that the tricks make up for their shortcomings.

Villager is very technical. You have to Pocket and un-Pocket things at the right time...the Tree makes a good barrier...and the Lloid Rocket can get you across the stage fast.

You gotta believe me when I scare you away, all that I wish for is that you would stayYeah, I have no idea what to do with Megaman and the Villager. Possibly even less with the latter. I can barely even beat two level 5 CPUs with those two. I guess part of the problem is that I'm pretty limited by my ADHD. I could probably learn to play those characters if I put a lot of effort into it, but as it is, I'd have to actively think about how to do stuff while playing, which just won't happen.
On a similar note, if we're having that tournament, I absolutely request 1-on-1 with no items. If I'm in the absolute minority with that, I'll see if I can get used to it, but somehow it seems like the size of the screen makes it even harder for me to keep track of multiple things happening at the same time.
i used to play final destination 1 on 1 with no items with my friend in brawl.
was actually a lot of fun, but thats cuz we were relatively evenly matched.
otherwise it'd probably be best to get used to 4 on 4 item brawls.
im guessing you dont have an xl, faw?

Have fun SD-ing.
On the subject of SSB4 tourneys...
I like both play types.
If we do one-on-one, we can do it ascending bracket style, with single elimination.
But if we do group matches and/or items, we should do it round-robin style, so everyone ultimately fights everyone else. The winner would be the one with the best KO:fall score after all the matches are done.
I have a message from another time...Tworneys?
I'm for the round robin style. Everyone would get to play and not have to stop once they're knocked out.
Or, tworneys and the competitive peeps can go settle it IN SMMMMASH over there.

It's funny. I use the word waifu but I hate anime. Anyway, give me your code when you get the game so we can fight each other.
