Kids these days not bothering to look to the left when they post.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!At this point, reading the thread when you don't want to be spoiled on the game is kind of stupid. We've already had our chance to get excited about the release, now it's time to play the waiting game.
"Monsters are tragic beings. They are born too tall, too strong, too heavy. They are not evil by choice. That is their tragedy."The thing is, we kinda have a spoiler thread to talk about things we only know about due to the Japanese release.

You can't make blanket statements. If one sole human being is on this thread who doesn't know that Ridley or the Chorus Men or Dark Pit or whoever is in the game, then it's common decency to not mention their inclusion. Note that my previous comment is not implying that those characters are actually in the game.

Why is a story mode with Nintendo levels in a giant Nintendo collab brawler shoehorning? Why are you so against Nintendo levels, I dont see why it is bad.
It would've worked too, since a main part of the story was every world being sucked into Subspace. I don't see how doing that would be shoehorning.
And did you not play Melee's adventure? Those Nintendo levels were fun! The Mario level, classic 2D platforming, bricks to break, Goombas to squash. The Zelda maze, where you had to fight Redeads and Like Likes on your search for the Triforce. The F-Zero stage, where you had to dodge the oncoming vehicles.
That's what it needs to be! It wouldn't just be boring background!
The Subspace levels were just weird and generic, considering the big reference heavy Nintendo collab they were being featured in.

Even with these awkward wings, dyed with images that seem to stay. I'm sure we can fly, on my love! 3DS Friend Code: 2809-9138-8756No. It only makes it so people are dissapointed that such good potential for many unique settings is wasted. I don't mind the generic setting, but bringing worlds from all over the series would have given the mode so much more personality. Same with enemies.

"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."Some Levels were obviously based upon other series. So it's not that easy. An Adventure Mode showing off every series is the best way. Melee wasn't able to do it, but they did fairly well on this. The SSE barely showed a bit of Mother 3, a little bit of Donkey Kong, something Mario-like, a pint of Metroid, a smidge of Kid Icarus, a clear Ice Climbers level, the Halberd, and that was it. Not every series got a level that was similar to their own. Or related to their series. It was even less than Melee's, who only left out Fire Emblem, Game & Watch, and that was it. It had Mario, Star Fox, Zelda, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Kirby, Metroid, Ice Climber, and Pokemon levels. And even the SSB series itself got levels.

Shadow?Hence the two different Ridley bosses. And the skewed boss representation in general. And the Mario enemies still being in. And the blatant Mother 3 oversaturation. And several characters clearly only being there for the sake of it while a select few others have far more meaningful roles.
"Tell them to shut up and have some faith in me." - dead flashback guyKeep in mind that the spoiler thread is to remain the spoiler thread until at least a month after the Wii U release, as per this forum's spoiler policy. Even though this Smash iteration doesn't have a "story" to spoil doesn't mean that there won't be things to spoil. Plus, not everyone will be getting the games as soon as they're released.
If an adventure game is made as a spinoff of this, I think a good idea would be Melee's different-video-game-worlds format with something as epic as the Subspace Emissary's story along with actual dialogue and a way to incorporate gameplay elements from each of the franchises represented.
The legend has returned.King Dedede, Wario, R.O.B., and Ness were the most memorable characters in the SSE. Their portrayals really stood out, and Spotlight-Stealing Crossover aside, I really did enjoy the story.
"It's liberating, realizing you never need to be competent." — UltimatepheerTheir portrayals were what they are like normally, except for R.O.B.
