It wouldn't be less generic to play, but it'd be less boring to look at.

[up] Boring my ass. I loved the Lake and Desert stages. I liked seeing the characters fight in areas like the temple ruins and such. It was fresh. Playing through the same boring Mario level or Pokémon level would be worse.

I for one love the Subspace Emissary.

I want the Wii U version to have some sort of mode involving exploring levels, defeating enemies, and fighting bosses.

[up] Smash Run for 3DS looks great, too. Fresh levels with no shoehorning of any franchise.

The actual SubSpace areas weren't too boring, but the way most of them looked color-wise and design wise...I found them boring and forgettable.

The locales weren't too bad, but some more non-OC enemies would be nice. Fighting some Kremlings, Waddle Dees, Space Pirates, Pokemon, Entombed, Bokoblins, and other Nintendo enemies would've been much cooler in this Nintendo crossover. That's why Smash Run is looking much better.

Some of the OC enemies were actually slightly based on franchise enemies.

[up][up][up] Then I'm sorry for you then. Those areas were awesome and had plenty of color. I loved fighting hordes of foes in a dense forest, or by a beautiful lake, or in a gunmetal gray factory of death.

Smash Run looks interesting, with some of the same designs and locales, almost.

I just want them to split the adventure and fighting portions of Smash off from each other. Let Smash be the fighting game and make a crossover RPG or something to cover the adventure mode aspect. That way both portions get a proper amount of attention.

I hope the Wii U version has a stage based on Subspace.

I mean the area specifically, not the mode in general.

Does Smash do unique stages outside of Battlefield and Final Destination? I can't think of any.

Not yet. No reason they couldn't change that though.

I mean, hey, Smash Bros itself is part of Nintendo's history too.

...man, what if a Smash game were to introduce an Original Generation character as playable? How violently would the fanbase explode?

In a sense they've already done that with the Mii Fighters.

[up][up] All the people who are already pissed about clones and characters like Duck Hunt Dog "taking up" slots? The Internet Backdraft would be fracking nuclear.

[up] All this 'slots' crap is bullshit. Whoever is in the game is in the game.

DEAL WITH IT. No one character is taking up any 'slot' from another. I hate this way of thinking.

Note how the words "taking up" are in quotation marks in his post. That implies a sort of sarcasm or verbal irony.

[up] It was sarcasm. And I know I'm sticking my neck out on the chopping block here, but Dean Ambrose looks pretty cool to play as.

I don't know how to tag so I'm using Dean Ambrose as a placeholder.
