[up] ... Oh my god I only noticed that what attacks the players in the Halberd stage is the Combo Cannon now.

I feel dumb.

I seriously hope the Pictochat 2 stage leads to a Pictochat 2 app. Nintendo's target audience is too young to know what a regular DS was.

Mostly their marketing strategies that worked in the Wii era but not so much here.

[up][up][up][up] I just thought it was an original thing for the stage.

C'mon, do you really think Sakurai wouldn't sweat the details for a stage based on his favorite character from his own series? tongue

I really liked having the Combo Cannon in the back. Kinda wish we got to fight it on the Halberd in SSE instead of Duon.

Something I only just noticed: Several G/Ws formed Duon, but only one came out.

Apparently, characters can die permanently.

I got the impression those other G&Ws were clones.

[up] Same.

There's tons of Shadow Bugs out there. I do actually like that they were taken from Brawl's story and incorporated into Master Hand.

wild mass guessMr. Game & Watch is Master Hand's father.

Shadow?

I think it was just that one Mr. Game and Watch was split into many, broken down into shadow bugs, formed into Duon, then reformed into one when he was defeated.

I'unno', I'm pretty sure they're a species.

I personally like the idea that G/W!Mario, Charlie Brown, Popeye, etc. are just like the fake brawlers, and shadow bug copying is mainly a form of reproduction for them.

I kinda wish they'd bring back Subspace Emissary, my cousin actually watched cutscenes for once. tongue

I was really hoping they would do Nintendo worlds now too, the original levels were a bit generic.

Oh well, the new Classic looks fun.

I am going to no-continue Classic at 9.0 with every character, though I might have to resort to custom parts for some characters.

I sure said that!

[up][up] I disagree. I liked the Subspace Worlds. They were special and unique instead of cramming every franchise they could into the mode. I also liked the Subspace Army.

There was nothing generic about The Subspace Emissary.

Honestly, considering how Brawl's Classic dragged on pretty badly, I can't say I'm that broken up over it.

I'm expecting the Wii U Classic Mode to be longer, though.

I sure said that!

[up][up]Subspace Emissary just got kinda tedious.

I feel like that tedium would break up with Nintendo worlds.

[down]Completely agree!

Melee adventure mode was great....till it pulled out halfway through and you spent most of the journey doing repetitive generic battles. I would love something thats in-between Melee and Brawls adventure mode: The brevity, Nintendo worlds, and event battles of Melee, and the actual level design and boss fights of Subspace.

[up] In what way? How would it be any different from a Subspace world? They took the best mechanics from some games and put them in the new levels. Donkey Kong's barrel cannons? Check. Floating platforms? Puzzles? Secret rooms? They took everything we loved about Nintendo and threw it all in one place.

[up]Except they were in pretty generic locations. The obstacles don't really matter if the level design itself is boring.

Using Nintendo worlds would help the levels stand out in that sense.

[up] Oh, okay. Let's drop Hyrule Castle in the background and keep everything else. That would make it less generic.

[up][up] The first level or two was Skyworld and Marth's level was possibly his castle.
