In spite of his emphasis on projectiles, I've had best results from playing Mega Man as a rushdown character- Top Spin is fast and deals a fair amount of damage, plus it eats shields, and Flame Sword and Slash Claw are very solid anti-ground attacks.

I sure said that!Still practicing Mario. I can never do the Meteor Smash or use the FLUDD correctly, but I'll continue a pretending I can.
Apparently Mario was buffed into "pretty good" this game. I'm not good at noticing the important buffs, so...What's made him a little better?

"Curry killed the pussy hoping that I could kill the hate in you" - Curry, D. "TABOO | TA13OO." TA13OO, PH, 2018I always try his meteor smash and never use F.L.U.D.D. It's so satisfying seeing him spike opponents down off-screen and so unsatisifying charging up F.L.U.D.D. just to push them a few feet to the side.
And I think his attacks hit harder. All the attacks sound heavier and sharper in this game. Which is good, because the fighters are still light, but at least they're stronger than they felt in Brawl.
You gotta believe me when I scare you away, all that I wish for is that you would stay![]()
My guess would be that Mario was always a pretty solidly designed character who can function very well as a combo artist when he can move fluidly and only needs some of his stats increased by a value of one or two or so to be good, and this game seems to be very fluid and they might have increased some of his stats by a value of one or two or so.
Either that, or everyone's just imagining that everyone's super-good now because everything works a million times better than Brawl and everything makes a nice oomph and it gives you the impression that everyone's super-strong, I dunno.
@Keybreak: Oh yeah. Half the time I end up killing myself as I try to be clever with a Meteor Smash, but I'll keep trying anyway.
@Fawriel:Huh…Well, I'm personally happy that Mario's been upped, even if I can barely notice it.
Unrelated: I can never attempt an up+A ground attack, without it becoming an air attack, or an up smash.

"Curry killed the pussy hoping that I could kill the hate in you" - Curry, D. "TABOO | TA13OO." TA13OO, PH, 2018Initially my brothers and I thought that Pikachu was a lot better in this game, but then we realized that its lack of strong attacks is still a detriment. I think I'm going to try and find a new main once I get the full version. I'm about equally good with Kirby, and i have a handful of other characters I like, but I want to try everyone out to see who I work best with.
I do like that Pikachu's Quick Attack is easier to pull off. For whatever reason, I never quite got the hang of it in Brawl, and that hurt my ability to recover.

Not sure if this was posted before, but Bulbanews recently posted some new info. The biggest things are that the limited edition xl is coming state-side for $200, and that the Wii U button lets you use your 3ds as a controller for the Wii U version, as well as transfer custom fighters.

Mega Man handles best as a rushdown fighter- His basic projectiles, while weak, can string together easily and he can keep pressure going on the move. You're going to need to learn how to use Up Strong Attacks/Tilts and getting the hang of short hopping to use Flame Sword and Slash Claw would be a good idea, too.
I sure said that!It gets...but it doesn't have.
