I hate the Nintendogs Assist Trophy. I thought I wouldn't mind it much this time around since Sakurai said that it would affect the AI as well.
He fucking lied.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Adjusting from the Game Cube controller to the 3DS is more confusing than it logically should be. I died several times from being gently knocked off of the stage and then not being able to figure out how to jump.
Also, Villager can steal Mega Man's Leaf Shield before he even throws it, which I find hilarious for some reason.
Villager: "Hey there. That's a nice Leaf Shield you've got there. It would be a shame if something happened to it."

Nothing at all from 10, oddly enough.
...is Perseus gone? *shifty eyes*
I'd just like to clarify that my problem with Rosalina is less with the character herself and more with how irrelevant she is outside of quick fanservice and sports games even within her own series. If she had her own identity like Wario, Yoshi, or Donkey Kong, I'd be more receptive of her, but in terms of importance, she ranks somewhere between Waluiginote and Blue/Yellow Toadsnote right now. I'm actually hoping that will change and make her retroactively a good roster choice.

"It's liberating, realizing you never need to be competent." — Ultimatepheer...How the hell does she not have her own identity? If anything, she became popular because of her character and personality, helped by the fact that she's one of the few Mario characters to have an actual backstory.
No, seriously, I don't see your point.
"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."
That backstory, personality, and identity was abandoned when she was kicked out of her own subseries.
I'm talking about Galaxy 2. Her appearances don't mean anything to the series except idle fanservice anymore.
"It's liberating, realizing you never need to be competent." — UltimatepheerSo, because she hasn't exhibited her character since SMG one, she has somehow lost that character somewhere along the way?

Rule of Perception. If she doesn't have anything to do with the current game, she might as well not even have been there.
What impact did she have on 3D World's events, non-gameplay wise? That wasn't a rhetorical question, I'm really asking that.

Yes. I'm saying that was a mistake.

"It's liberating, realizing you never need to be competent." — UltimatepheerKind of hard to bring too much of a story with her when the last main Mario game had plot as deep as a cereal commercial's.
While I'm bummed that Miyamoto doesn't want Mario games to get too much of a story, it's not the character's fault. I still like her, as do many, so I'm happy to not see her being Put on a Bus while still showing part of her character.

"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."Yeah, but why are you focusing on her lack of activity in recent games instead of her absolutely present activity in SMG 1? It's not like SMG 1 stopped existing because of SMG 2.
And I think all Rosalina fans will agree that abandoning story in SMG 2 was a mistake. But it's not like that retroactively removes the nice character development in 1.

Moving on to disc 2 of Grandia!I just wish she was as actually important to her series as a Mario representative as her recent number of shoehornings suggest. They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character, so right now it just feels like she got in over someone who actually matters to Nintendo's history.

"It's liberating, realizing you never need to be competent." — UltimatepheerWhen compared to the usual Mario fare, you can't say Rosalina has less of an impact in the series than other characters. If anything, it's only because she's one of the most recent additions that she feels "shoehorned". Folks like Waluigi and Daisy have made a living out of being featured in spin-offs; I don't see what's so taboo about adding a character that actually had a big spot in the main series.
Also, Square Peg Round Trope right there.

Was just watching th AI while eating and just saw the Nintendogs AT.
