@pheer: I'm playing it on the regular DS and so far I'm not having any trouble with it. The small screen isn't really noticeable to me unless I play my girlfriend's 3DS XL.
I've been solely playing Mega Man and working my way up the CPU rank for Mario. So far I think I've got Mega down enough to regularly KO a mid-level Mario (below 8/9) without too much hassle. I still have trouble using his dair though.
And yeah, I have trouble with Pikachu the most out of the demo's characters. It probably doesn't help that I didn't like how he felt in Brawl, which he feels the most similar to.
On a different note, I really love the items in this game. The Cucco is hilarious, even when I'm the one that accidentally angered it. Dark Samus and Ghirahim are also amazing Assists.
What does the S Flag do again?
I could add it to the list of Obvious-unobvious strategies to use when playing as Villager.
Press Down B again to water it...then again to Chop it down when ready.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.![]()
When you grab it, using it on the ground has you go into a pose for a while. If you use it, uninterrupted, for the whole duration, you get a point (in Time mode) or a Stock (in Stock mode). Problem is, the pose makes you immobile, and getting hit once makes you drop it.
Villager can pocket it, and wait for the right moment while still hving his A moves.

First use plants a seed. Second use pulls out a watering can. If used on opponents, it pushes back without damaging, and if used on the sapling, the tree grows. 3rd and following uses is an axe. The axe deals nice damage and is quick. Hitting the tree will notch that side. Hitting a side twice will fell the tree, which hits very heavily.
So, every segment of the attack, except for the seed, has another funciton.

I have a message from another time...Every time I think about Pocket and the sneakiness potential, I can't help but giggle. Ahem, i-in a manly way, of course.
Once I get the game I am so remapping Grab to Y, and of course disabling tapping Up to jump.
Don't forget that the tree can launch people hilariously upward while it grows up.

"It's liberating, realizing you never need to be competent." — UltimatepheerMy impressions from the demo:
- Link has a lot of things going for him this time. His shield means anyone that relies on projectiles is gonna have a harder time against him since he can just walk forward and let his shield block everything. The second hit of his down smash has completely horizontal knockback, making it an excellent KO move and edge guard against anyone approaching from above. His dash attack is strong enough to KO at high percentages, all of his projectiles are useful for edge guarding, and his tether recovery can make edge guarding him difficult for some characters.
- Mega Man's many projectiles allow him stand up to most characters, but he'll have a hard time against anyone that can reflect projectiles, considering only 6 out of 12 of his A attacksnote aren't projectiles, which can make approaching and damaging them very difficult.

Villager's recovery is like R.O.B.'s and Pit's from Brawl.
It'll last a long time if you keep pressing the button as soon as you activate it...but if you don't and fall before tapping the button, it pretty much stutters and by the time you start going up it runs out.

... Hmm.
Mega Man seems to suffer the Leon problem. He's a good character, but the AI seems to have absolutely no clue how to use him.

I sure said that!
