Nah, there's a post. It's not on the Smash Bros site for some reason, but here. It's a new mode.

Expect the characters in Conquest mode to be everywhere online. When Fox shows up, it really will be "Fox only!" I wonder what will happen if Mirror Matches occur.
I don't mind menus that much, but waiting over 4 hours for a 3DS one was a little bad.
If it was a Wii U menu, something nobody knows about, it might've been better.
Not a fan of this update. I like the actual mode, but the timing of when to show it off was kind of awful. I think tomorrow he should've posted it, with today being a site update or something.
Shadow?I'm still having fun with the demo. Figuring it out competitively is really helping extend its life.
It and the entire genre are like Chess — everyone has just about the same options, but the variety comes from figuring out new ways to reduce the opponent's while trying to prevent them from doing the same to you. And there's only one playable character in Chess — the demo has five.
- Mario is basically the standard setup with eight pawns, two knights/bishops/rooks, a king and a queen.
- Pikachu has a bunch of bishops and rooks to dart around the board and strike fast and hard, but the king is exposed and there is no queen.
- Link has less pawns and more knights. He can attack more, but he has to do some careful maneuvering to do so. His king is right next to his rooks, very well-protected at close range but easy to get reckless with and leave abandoned.
- Villager's bishops and knights are front and center with his huge range, with the pawns as backup. He has multiple queens, but they're well-buried behind the other pieces.
- Mega Man has more rooks and knights than the other characters, but he only has a single row of pieces with no pawns, so all of his pieces are exposed and, with care, can be countered and destroyed in a flash.
And when the full game comes out, which multiplies the number of characters tenfold, it will have so much more with that. So yeah, looking forward to it.

"It's liberating, realizing you never need to be competent." — UltimatepheerThis is from the description, translated:
Suggesting that constantly won't make it less OP, so...
I see a nerf in the future. Since that's the more reasonable option. Characters should be balanced. Too many defensive options don't help at all. Brawl had a serious issue with that. KO'ing was severely difficult in that game, which is actually what hurt its competitive nature. If it's too easy in this game, then the characters need to be a bit weaker to make it a bit more balanced. And right now, a lot of characters have some seriously unbalanced issues. But that's what patches are for, and since we already got a patch coming(to fix the major bug with Peach's Down B in For Glory) and regular dlc already happened, well... expect nerfs/buffs in the future.

If I'm reading that correctly, they can't roll away, right? If so, it's definitely a problem. And not just a "OP but avoidable" problem.

Shadow? You can't roll out of it due to the Paralyzer forcing the character to stand up and you can't tech off of a footstool jump.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Exactly. It can't be gotten out of.
That means a nerf is needed. I originally thought it was simply just OP but avoidable. That means a nerf would be nice, but only that.
But with that knowledge, and once Sakurai finds out about it, we'll get a nerf patch. Because he's already trying to avoid these problems by adding patches to the game.
Shadow? He's already releasing patches to fix issues in the game. So, um, yeah, we can expect him to fix any broken combos in the game too. Especially since he specified he cares about balancing the game this time around.
He just has to find out about the broken combo. That's literally the only way he won't find a way to nerf it.
Shadow? Why wouldn't they? We already know that patches for the game are a thing, and that one character has the silliest bug, so why wouldn't they also fix crazy OP stuff found along the way?
"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."I just felt it was out-of-character for Irene - someone who goes around forums and articles, telling people that they can't even theorize about things that aren't 100% proven - to make assumption based on inferences, but not on explicit statements. That's all.
"What's out there? What's waiting for me?"

Actually...
