Aaauuugh no. Thanks again, Scott, but none of these codes are working, and I just realized, why. I'm gonna need a European code for this to work...

An unlimited demo? Nice... That will definitely tide some people over until Oct 3.

Kudos to Nintendo then. I probably won't get a code from them, but kudos all the same.

Don't worry, you'll get it somehow. Many of us have it. It's not that difficult to get.

Villager plays a bit awkwardly, but he's still my main anyway. Then again, I was dead-set on making him my main from day one tongue.

Mega Man is cool too, though I'm not sure if I'm too good with a projectile-based character.

Wow, altruism and seeing people's gratitude really is one of the best things ever.

On a different note, I was hoping to get the New 3DS to replace my current 3DS, which has a less than stellar circle pad at this point, but after playing the demo, I need a new "regular" 3DS now!

Well it's nice there's a demo, not so nice that it's timed exclusive. Should have expected something like this to happen...

So after playing a few matches as Mega Man against the Villager at varying difficulties here are my thoughts:

  1. Mega Man is awesome. His attacks hit hard and have fairly good range. His standard attack being buster shots with no knockback instead of a punch or kick will take some getting used to though.
  2. Despite Mega Man being cool his final smash is rather difficult to hit with. It seems like the black hole bomb just decides whether or not it wants to catch someone. I got the thing three times and only hit with it once.
  3. Holy shit Villager's recovery is OP! I knocked her off the screen and then threw a gun at her to push her back after she got back on screen. She was near the very bottom of the stage and still got back on.
  4. Did they make this game easier? I have very little practice with Mega Man but I was able to win against the Villager on level 7 pretty easily. Back when I played Brawl I couldn't usually go above 6 without running into problems.
  5. This is more of a question but do the coins we earn here transfer to the 3DS version once we get it?

I'll play as Villager against Mega Man in a bit and post my thoughts on that.

[up]That's my biggest problem with it. I think they should have had ten. Mario, Link, Pikachu, Kirby, Pit, and Samus for the veterans and Villager, Mega Man, Pac Man, and Wii Fit Trainer as the newcomers. That way you could experiment a bit more.

[up]Glad to hear some more stuff on Mega. Most of the comments I've seen about him since the Japanese demo/version came out was that he wasn't all that he's cracked up to be.

[up][up]I'm more surprised that they didn't even it out to 6 or 8 (including other characters like Kirby, Pit, Samus, and/or Donkey Kong).

Okay, another thing that bugs me is that you can't turn items off. I want to test these characters out under tourney conditions but I can't.

Best not to expect too much from a free demo. They have to keep it limited to stop people not bothering to buy the full game.

The only way to turn off items is play on the omega version of Battlefield.

Something about this game feels really satisfying managing to knock your opponent/opponents flying.Maybe its that big flashy thing that happens.

Kinda just bugs me me just how extremely limited the demo is.I get they don't want to give away too much but couldn't they've put in a few more stages or at least a 3rd newcomer to make it equal?

Also,I believe the coins transfer to the full version.

The demo... it's beautiful. It truly is not Brawl 2.0.

A bit lacking in content, but if this is a taste of things to come, you'll never get me off of my 3DS. Ever.

I really do think they gimped the demo too much. There is a ridiculous amount of content in this game. Giving us access to five more characters and the omega version of Battlefield wouldn't have kept anyone from buying it.

Also, you know what's a pain? Fighting Link as Mega Man.

[up] Why would they do that? It's a demo. It's not meant to be the full game.

Even if they were going to choose different stages they probably decided to heck with it and chose Battlefield, which is good enough anyway.

Shame the selection that people are actually going be interested in is basically two.

I imagine it'd be alleviated some by actually having friends nearby to play with, though.
