I don't have a 3DS, and I don't think I'll be getting one in a long time, if ever; so Wii U for me!

I have a friend with a 3DS, but he doesn't want to buy the game. Says he'd rather wait until I get the sweet multiplayer HD version. Funnily enough, he was the one who had his house invaded back when Brawl came out, so now I'll be returning the favor tongue

Also, Ridley page topper. As it should be.

I have both consoles, but I'll probably wait until the Wii U version, and only maybe pick up the 3DS version at a later date.

"Smash on the go" isn't as appealing as "Smash on a big HD television with actual people to play against".

Singleplayer is fun and all but I don't think I'd be getting the 3DS version if that's all it'd have to offer me. I also kinda want my first experience with SSB 4 to be Wii U.

I can't seem to find my 3DS anywhere, but I know people around here are going to get it and let people play. Not sure if I'd be able to participate in the tournament, but if I could I totally would.

I'm more of a loner, so the single player is my kind of style, but whatever floats your boat, dude. Who is going to be your main?

I most likely spending a lot of time playing against cpus.Esp. if the online net code will be bad.I definitely plan on 100% both 3DS and Wii U.

Unless its a casual tourney, I don't think so.I don't like playing competitively.More of a casual guy.
You'll have to explain to me what this means, exactly. A tournament is competitive by definition. In this case, there'll apparently be a bunch of ordinary casuals and maybe a handful of competitive players joining in, so players will be mostly casual. Are you suggesting that competitive players should just go easy on the rest? Because I can tell you from my (casual) experience that that is really hard to do.

I don't mean to start an argument, I'm just really not sure what to make of that statement.

So, I'm assuming that because we are all speaking English, the game will be released for all of our countries by October 4th. We should make a Google Doc to set up a bracket. (Unless the 3ds version has a tourney mode built in, ofc. But we should at least keep track of participants.)

You can have a casual tourney. All it takes is setting up a tournament (with friends) and not really trying all that hard.

Yeah, I assume they're wondering about stuff like whether items will be on, if all stages will be allowed, etc.

Fair enough. Actually, now that I think about it, "not trying too hard" should be doable even for a competitive player...

By the way, I think we shouldn't wait too long with the tournament. The more time there is to practice, the less casual it's gonna become and the more I'd end up stressing about it after all!

(Also it's gonna be hard to find a time because of timezones. Hum.)

Eh, it's not as if we can't hold multiple tournaments. Though I do agree that holding one shortly after release will be a bit more "fair", in a sense.

We can have a vote or something to decide if we do For Fun or For Glory. Alternatively we can do both if we have enough people for each.

I mean, technically we don't have to do just one tournament, so time shouldn't really matter.

I'd probably want to join a Tvtropes tourney. Officially I'm against the competitive scene, but if it's just For Fun...

I would love to join in on a TvTropes tourney but I'm pretty sure that Time zones would lcok me out of it.

Put me down as a maybe.

I too would appreciate a TV Tropes tourney. Either device, i'm getting them both day one (because the Wii U version will be at least 50 days later and I cannot wait that long.)

I forgot that For Glory is only one-on-one anyway.

WHERE IS THE FUN IN THAT?

It's funner packing as many people in with as many items as will fall on stage. ;p

I'll probably join up, but it'll depend on how busy I am.

Man, so many casual scrubs here. I'm that one guy who voted For Glory. (I'll explain why if anyone actually cares, which I doubt.) But I'm totally down for a For Fun tourney anyways.
