So it looks like this new game will be a bit more ground-based than the previous games.
Which is pretty justified, as Brawl's air dodge has nearly killed the aerial game, and they're retaining it for SSB4.
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page.Once of my 2DS/3DS systems has a Reggie Mii. Gonna make him one of my Mii fighters for sure :D
Also I got the daughter of 4chan, Vivian James, she'll be in as well :D

Gotta work with what you got and then use your imagination for the rest after you get the general idea down.
I'll be honest, I'm not a fan of the whole "chronological order" for All-Star Mode. It makes things too predictable. Part of the appeal (at least for me) in Melee's All-Star Mode was the random order. Being able to play it without having all the characters unlocked also isn't that appealing to me.
Regarding this new mechanics info, part of why L-cancelling and wavedashing always seemed problematic in my eyes was just how difficult they were. They were very tricky stuff to pull off, yet they were basically required if you wanted to play Melee in any competitive fashion. To see a similar mechanic without such a restrictive skill-gate is definitely a good thing.
That's what makes it so rewarding to master though (coming from someone who never mastered it and prefers Brawl).
I can see why people won't like the "easier" mechanic.
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page. Its not really a new thing, it was in Brawl.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.@56101: M2K is Fox and Marth, not even touching his namesake. HB is Jigglypuff and Falco — he only chose Kirby in the invitational because he was close to Jigglypuff. They only play with characters in the top 5.
@Pulse: YES. THAT'S WHAT I'VE BEEN SAYING ALL ALONG. Glad to see someone else gets it.
@56102: That's why For Glory using Final Destination is A-OK this time.

"It's liberating, realizing you never need to be competent." — UltimatepheerIt should be noted that M 2 K has been playing Melee competitively for almost a decade, even competing in some of the most bare bones tourneys in 2006. To be at the top for so long pretty much ensures the elitist attitude.
Also, for references, Here is M2K
and this is HungryBox

Yeah. Being a P:M player, I don't like being called a "fraud".

Autocancelling aerial attacks into any other attack or motion. Games like Street Fighter just plain wouldn't function without it.

"It's liberating, realizing you never need to be competent." — UltimatepheerWasn't it officially confirmed some time ago that the starting roster would be every character so revealed so far (can't remember if this was before or after the Shulk reveal) except Lucina? Didn't that by itself confirm that there would be unlockable characters? Not that I understand why people ever believed there wouldn't be any unlockable characters in the first place, since the evidence for it was a grand total of absolute zero.
Also, what's the point of even having landing lag in the first place, again?
Really, the whole "there won't be any unlockable characters" panic reminds me of a general trend of, whenever something hasn't been commented on (often because it's something so obvious that it doesn't actually need to be commented on), to assume the single worst scenario you can possibly come up with and then acting like it's the confirmed truth. It really annoys me, and is part of why I left the Blizzard and Bioware forums.
