So, to go over Shulk's moves.

B: Monado Arts: I think this cycles between his self-buffs, as descibed by Sakurai. I imagine they wear off after [x] seconds.
Down B: Vision: A counter move. I think it allows a few follow-up variations?
Up B: Air Slash: A rising two-part slash.
Side B: A different sort of attack that deals massively more damage and knockback if it hits the opponent from behind.

Final Smash: Chain Attack.

Sound abou right?

I'm vaguely amused by how the one kanji I recognized is the one you don't seem to be sure about. Could also stand for 撃つ ("shoot", but apparently also "destroy" or "defeat" according to jisho.org), right?

[up] ... so does Kirby copy the sword?

Chuggaaconroy actually just covered the Monado's kanji in a recent episode; according to him, that one does mean "destroy."

It can mean that, yes, but it can also be used in こうげき (the one I listed), じゅうげき (銃撃, shooting), だげき (打撃; blow, shock, strike, damage), しょうげき (衝撃; shock, crash, impact, ballistic), and quite a few other words.

But now that I now of 撃つ, I'm going with "Destroy" as the meaning as well.

So, if Enlong's examination is correct, that's the second character with a Back Attack feature, after Robin's Nosferatu.

I sure said that!

Yeah, that's true, isn't it?

Anyway, yeah, wow. Kirby copying Shulk would get the Monado Arts?

Now that I think about it, wouldn't that be the single most powerful move Kirby could copy?

Shulk's probably the most powerful character in the game lorewise save for Rosalina due to the Monado's abilities.

I doubt Kirby would get all the Monado Arts. It seems overly complicated.

Shulk, Palutena, and Rosalina are definitely the strongest in terms of canon power.

I'm not sure. "Press B to cycle through arts" doesn't seem too complicated to play, though I guess it might be complicated in implementation. It'd be kind of fun if Kirby's body displayed the symbol of whatever art he was using.

Maybe Kirby would, as with Olimar, get a simplified version of the skill. Maybe it would just be one of the enchantments instead of all of 'em.

And I'm skeptical as to Shulk's overall brokenness anyway. I can't imagine the enchantments lasting very long, and he seems to need to strike a pose to use them, leaving him open.

I think Kirby will just get Back Slash. You know, like how he got Olimar's Side B.

Kirby still incorporated his neutral B. They just turned it into a heavily abridged version of both moves.

[up][up]Whatever he would have used had he done a Monado Enchant. Assuming it cycles through them in a specific order it shouldn't be hard.

@canon power: What about Ganondorf? Being functionally invincible except to some particular holy weapons is pretty good.

Pit should also be really high up there in terms of canon power seeing as how he's defeated a lot of gods in single combat.

Most powerful is either Pit or Samus, I'd say.

Unfortunately, comparing the relative strength of divine/magic characters with high-technology characters gets tricky.

For me there are two tiers of gods. There are Physical Gods like Palutena and then there are ones that are basically The Omnipotent like Rosalina.

[up][up]Considering Pit is a lot stronger than her, I don't think it counts in her case.
