So Metal Face confirmed as a boss? If so, when how would that work? Like, ignoring obvious gameplay stuff, Metal Face would not be harmed by most of the cast (arguably).
Context: In Xenoblade, there is this machine race called Mechon. Mechons are immune to most attacks outside of Ether attacks (sort of magic), weapons made specifically to fight them or by the Monado and those who are enchanted by it.

So, they really did sneak a Smash character in a Japanese-only Direct. Clever bastard, that Sakurai.
I'm digging the hell out of Shulk's Monado Arts system. I was about to refer to them as buffs, but when you think about it it's more like a stance system, with pros and cons for each Art. Also, haven't played Xenoblade, so I didn't know the Monado had beam-sword properties. Cool, he's the closest thing we have in this game to Travis Touchdown.
Oh, and Kawashima AT for....second-best AT. Sorry, but even he can't surpass the awesome might of Pong.
Thanks Sakurai. So now we just need Ridley, Mewtwo, and Isaac and all my most wanted characters are in.
Edit: So Riki and Dunban are in his Team Attack final smash. They seem like odd picks. I wonder if it's random or if that means Reyn, Melia, Sharla, and Seven do something else.

Shulk. Neat. Never played Xenoblade Chronicles, but I hear good things about the game.
Dunno what to feel about the trailer, though. We got pretty grand ones for the other newcomers, but this one feels relatively half-baked.
"Curry killed the pussy hoping that I could kill the hate in you" - Curry, D. "TABOO | TA13OO." TA13OO, PH, 2018That's Metal Face, the main enemy of the first major arc. A complete Smug Snake of a Mechon.

"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."I was thinking Arglas would be the boss but Metal Face is a better pick. You don't find out about the former until you're nearing the end whereas the latter is the main antagonist for the first 60ish%.
Until he spoke I actually thought it was Ridley and that they were doing a double reveal.
