You can make all kinds of arguments for why it's good, but that doesn't change the fact that consumers hate it. And that can hurt the brand.
I'd be up for character DLC, especially if it was for characters that were planned but couldn't be implemented in time.
My only strong feelings for the supposed leak: The idea of Bowser Jr battling in the Clown Car as a pseudo mech fighter has revived my interest in him as a playable character. Doesn't mean I think the leak is real, just that that would be an amazing way to work Bowser Jr in.
I wonder if Nintendo of America will develop any of it themselves.
"It's liberating, realizing you never need to be competent." — UltimatepheerAll right, one more post and then I'm done. I'm sorry, this is kind of a Berserk Button for me.
In most of my experiences of people using that phrase, there's always at least one literal person who feels the need to bring up that no, he/she is not the only person who does X, while ignoring the rest of the post. Like, the conversation is derailed (hypocritical of me, I know) and the poster's thoughts are ignored just because someone saw the opportunity to make a smug comment on the internet. Like I said, Baffle's comment was inaccurate even if taken figuratively, so this doesn't really apply to you, Enlong.
You're right, there is always someone who will agree with a given statement. That's why the phrase is figurative. It's no worse than an employer owning a mug that says "World's Greatest Boss" or an impatient customer at a restaurant saying "We've been waiting for ages!"
Sorry for the rant, guys. Last post on the subject, I promise.
EA and Capcom, I assume. Who else?

Arc Sys, as mentioned earlier.
Cosmetic DLC like alternate costumes should be free.
Gameplay-changing DLC like characters and stages can cost money. Just don't put it on disc, m'kay?
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page.Bowser Jr., Shulk, Stanley Duck Hunt, Ganondorf, Falco, Dr.Mario, and Jigglypuff. Might be a few others as well.
Upon further inspection, Ness, Wario, Mr.G&W (sigh), and ROB are also there.

"Tell them to shut up and have some faith in me." - dead flashback guySounds to me like the best course of action would be to introduce a new DLC character every once in a while for free to keep up the longevity of the game while providing a steady stream of cosmetic extras for money. That way people won't complain about being locked out of integral stuff by a paywall, and cosmetic DLC seems to work well enough as a source of money (particularly since it isn't cost-intensive to actually make).
Some new Famitsu scans
. The biggest thing of note is the shot of a new section of the Paper Mario stage. Finally, a Bowser's Castle stage! Kinda!

The lack of Ridley is interesting - if the leak had Ridley in it I would've immediately dismissed it as likely fake (not because it's necessarily unlikely that Ridley might be in it, but because I feel that as a rule of thumb one should be skeptical of "leaks" that tell fans exactly what they want to hear).
The main thing that still makes me skeptical is Dr. Mario, though. As much as I loved Dr. Mario in Melee, it'd be an odd example of backsliding on the clone thing - especially when this game is emphasizing alternate costumes quite a bit.

My guess for that is they couldn't figure out how to fix the infinite cape glitch.

...aren't the things you said should be free the things that would cost the most to create?
