It's funny how they've put off revealing the characters that everyone seems so eager for, whether as playables or Assist Trophies.
Because either way they're in the game—people just don't know how.
Like how everyone knows that Ridley is in, just a question of whether he's a stage boss (which I'm pretty sure of) or a real fighter. Heh...
You gotta believe me when I scare you away, all that I wish for is that you would stay![]()
Oh, lordy, that.
But yeah, pretty much what Beorc said. I still enjoyed the game. It was very fun. But the flaws are fairly noticeable.
But hey, at least Dullahan is still a challenge. Which is good.
I mainly support Isaac due to being the first protagonist, having nearly as many moveset options as Matthew, and having the most different game appearances(thus, various costumes) to go off of. I don't mind the game used a very new cast, though. But it could've done a bit better with some of them. Some felt underdeveloped, namely the second half of playable characters. Almost like nothing more than a plot device, and not really a character instead.

Shadow?I've never been a fan of the Golden Sun games. Aesthetically, they're very beautiful games, but beyond that, there were too many plot holes and Fridge moments that I couldn't play beyond the first moments of the first game (I did find the fact that the game ends if you choose not to go on an adventure near the beginning to be very amusing though; I kind of wish more RPGs averted But Thou Must! like that). One of my brothers however, loved them and got both games, and since we had a GBA Adapter, I managed to watch most of his playthrough of them. The only way I manage to get the entire story of the series before Dark Dawn was by reading a Let's Play that more or less adequately explained why I had so much trouble getting into the games.
Despite that, I bought Dark Dawn, but it turned out to have most of the same problems the earlier games had, so I've yet to finish it.
And all that said, I'd really like to see Isaac as a playable character in Smash. The games are all visually impressive for their time and I'd love to see how that would translate in a Smash environment.
I also want to hear the series's music get remixed in Smash, despite finding much of the soundtrack of the GBA games to be a bore (aside from the Lighthouse themes, Sol Sanctum, and the battle themes, that is).
EDIT: ...Either I type slow or this thread just decided to move fast while I was typing this particular response. >_>

Sveta I consider part of the first half when I made the response. Along with the first 3. Those were pretty well developed. The other ones, not so much.
I should've definitely worded that way better. Although Karis is a bit meh. Also, remembering them all(as in their names) is kind of hard for me right now. >_< I haven't played it for years. I just wish the Mercury users were a bit better. Not in actual abilities(which were fine), but in development.
Anyway, I really hope we got more Golden Sun stuff in Smash 4 as is. Songs, Trophies, etc.

Shadow?I just really want the next game. You can't end the sere on that. I mean, it's obvious that we're gonna get to work to stop the Mourning Moon, nad perhaps finally fight you know who.
I'd be amused if that character was a boss in Smash, making that the first game where we get to punch him in the face.
I have a message from another time...Hmm, just out of curiosity, what plot holes did you find there to be? I've played through these games so many times since I was a kid that I have a hard time seeing them anew, so I'd be interested in hearing a different point of view.
Welcome to th:|I wonder if there's any chance of an Ice Climbers revival.
I mean, even Game & Watch got a brief revival after Melee with Gallery 4. Or, at least, it was part of the reason it was made if it using Melee's Mr. G&W design is any indication.

"It's liberating, realizing you never need to be competent." — Ultimatepheeri really wish karis had had mind read.
"rare ability" pfft...shot themselves in the foot right there, for me.
like maybe if this wasnt the game of a thousand points of no return, but getting it halfway through the game is really annoying considering how much i enjoyed mind read in the original games.
It would be really depressing if after this whole conversation tonight's pic of the day was Isaac as an Assist Trophy.
Also,
I want to reply to your comment about Mind Read, but I feel this thread's getting a bit too off-track, so I'm going to revive the dead Golden Sun thread and put my response there. >_>
This week's Pic of the Day theme should be 'troll the TV Tropes forums', rather than Neogaf.

Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectI thought that was every week? Sakurai's default mode is troll, anyway.
I think we should make a top 10 moments of Sakurai trolling. Chrom getting knocked out and Pseudo-Palutena would probably go highly, but then there's the outright lying that was Zero Suit Samus in that one Direct.

The Custom Robo character should totally be Peregrine with the Formula Shoes and the Knuckle Gun.
Or better yet, the Taser Stun Gun.

That's kinda how I felt about Dark Dawn. The game itself was fine, but it clearly was just a lead-in for more. And I'm still annoyed that they ended with a cliffhanger like that without being sure they could even make another game.
All that said, I'm really hoping for a Golden Sun rep. Probably Isaac, but anyone else would be fine, too.
