Sonic has had a wide variety of moves and power ups over the years. My favorites include the element shields and the Wisps. He shouldn't have to have such a basic moveset as homing attack (fair enough), two spin dashes and a basic spring jump. He could have things like Insta-Shield as his nAir, or Tails, Rocket Wisp or Electric shield as his up+B. Heck, imagine the Electric shield drawing items to a mid-air fighter.

Good thing there's already a Sonic the Hedgehog fighting game for inspiration. That game gives plenty of moves to Sonic, most of which don't require 3D to work.

Actually, a lot of his attacks are already based on Sonic The Fighters.
I'll probably main Sonic because of character loyalty, but he could certainly use a moveset revamp. I mean the reason it was pretty lame in SSBB, IIRC, was because they pretty much just threw him in the last minute. (Also why he didn't play a bigger part in SSE.)

Another scan.
◊ (unless I missed it being posted) Classic mode is back, and it has the intensity system from Uprising too. Stuff we already know, but if you didn't, hey, here it is.
Oh and it's the multi Mii fighter this time around instead of the Alloys.

You got some dirt on you. Here's some more!I wasn't crazy about Uprising's difficulty scale. Either I was playing too easy and not getting enough treasure or I was playing too hard and not getting enough not-dying.
Well, learn to adapt...
And did Smash Bomber take the place of Break the Targets? Cause that'd be a little sad...
You gotta believe me when I scare you away, all that I wish for is that you would stayI really liked KIU's difficulty scale as that meant there were 81 different difficulty levels so it was easy to find exactly the level where the game challenged you but not to the point of frustrating you. I'm glad to see it in Smash Bros.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book! It's always interesting how much Sakurai draws from his previous work when it comes to features.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectI don't really see why it should be. He takes what works and continues to use it, maybe with some tweaks. To me, that's just good business sense since you don't fix what isn't broken.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!I found it scary how much Brawl was like Kirby Air Ride.
The wall of achievements, the way you could unlock characters (or air machines), the subgames...
And the Dragoon itself.
Well, all Kirby games are a lot like Smash games are all like Kirby games.
You gotta believe me when I scare you away, all that I wish for is that you would stayIf he even wants to continue doing Smash, we could probably figure out what Smash 5 would be like from his next non-Smash game.
The guy even reuses his menu designs.

Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectA really shitty Kirby game. Wasn't really fond of that mode at all, and it felt like most of the dev time or focus was on that mode instead of the rest of the game. (actually I wouldn't be surprised if this was the case considering how Brawl's multiplayer turned out. Ugh. Wasn't terrible but there was something about it that felt lacking to me.)
The intensity scale is a good addition though, let's people determine exactly how challenging they want their game to be. Or if they're a full on masochist.

You got some dirt on you. Here's some more!I heard this mentioned before, but Brawl's odd multiplayer and play mainly dealt with all the companies who got their fingerprints on the game and editted it. In the end what we got was a super blended mess which explains the lack of combos, weird hitboxes, and overall floatiness of the characters. (Curse you, Snake's Up - Tilt!)

Fingers crossed for Sonic Storm as a variant.
I have a message from another time...
