I've had this idea for ages- A Boost Pad from F-Zero.
It'd generate as a sparkly electric ball that, after being thrown and landing on the ground, would become a fully set-up Boost Pad from GX that would rocket anyone who stepped on it forward, fast enough to damage anyone in the way.
I sure said that!I feel like that X-Bomb, Back Shield and Killer Eye would've shown up even if Uprising didn't exist, albeit with more Smashy designs.
🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaNo, I'm pretty sure we got so much Uprising stuff because Sakurai loves it and many worked on that game. Albeit, we could get a lot of other stuff from other series that shows it off to a high degree too.
I like the boost pad idea. Pikmin's Bomb Rocks are cool. I wouldn't mind some Assist Trophies related to them, or maybe the random items could show up too. The references to real world items.
Shadow?Although that latest one is actually pretty unique. It takes a partial idea from the Dragoon, but adds the Cracker Launcher/Super Scope into the mix.
The Ore Club isn't nearly as unique, though. Same with the Shield.
Although to be fair, adding Items from 3rd Party series might be a bit tougher(outside of Bandai-Namco since they're working on the game). Every bit of content costs some money beyond the character alone, although deals were made for tons, I'm sure, if possible. Also, Sakurai has to cater to the 3rd Party Company's particular choices, not just what he wants, for things like Songs, etc. He probably has a lot of free reign solely for the moveset.
Shadow? The only thing I could see working from F-Zero is one of those repair spaceships slowly restoring your health. Maybe make it so that it creates a localized zone that restores everyone on your team's health?
Pokemon has the Pokeballs, sure, but I think some of the held items could be pretty cool. A Life Orb that gives an attack boost at the cost of damage to yourself, an Assault Vest that greatly reduces damgage but locks out certain moves, A Choice Band that boosts one special move but locks you into it....
Other than the Dragoon and Maximum Tomato, does Kirby have any items?

I like~
@Enlong: Oh, right, honestly forgot about that part. That's actually pretty cool. I can't think of many Weapons/Items from various Nintendo-related series that could've been like it, either. Golden Sun, at least. Quest 64 barely has it, since Brian's Staff could be used by the wielder to create various elemental magic, including a cyclone. That said, any other games with elemental weapons like that?
Shadow? So if a boost pad were implemented, would jumping and landing on the edge of it cause a greater boost in speed than normal?
Kirby also has the Star Rod.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. In Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, there was an accessory that made the wearer immune to bonus damage. Thus, if a Pegasus Rider wore it, they would take normal damage from arrows and wind magic, rather than triple. In Smash Bros, maybe it could work like the Cloaking Device from Melee, making the wearer immune to damage - but not knockback - for as long as it's on.
"What's out there? What's waiting for me?"That's a common thing. Akaneia had Iote's Shield, Elibe had the Delphi Shield, Magvel the Fila Shield...
Iote's Shield is the only one with plot fanfare, so if any of them is getting in Smash, it's that.
Do we know what any of them look like?
Iote's Shield is displayed as one of the DLC skill icons in Awakening, if that counts.
On that note, the description sounds more akin to the badges from Brawl. It could definitely work as one of the more rare items, in any case.
"Tell them to shut up and have some faith in me." - dead flashback guy

For the record, constantly posting "I agree" doesn't really help anyone's arguments. It's just another post with zero content.
That said, my point still stands overall the Uprising has the most content out of any particular game in the Smash series period and they could really show off other games. Doctrain does have a fair point that's not much to draw from, and Pulse is right that the enemies were barely redesigned in 3D, so we still have some classic representation(even if it's directly uploaded from Uprising instead of a new 3D design). So it's not as bad as I had thought.
But we could definitely use less Uprising stuff regardless. Fire Emblem could seriously use an Item, same with F-Zero(is there anything that might work, though?), and I think that was all the series that has zero items(that could feasibly get some). Pikmin has one, I think(at least in 4. I forget if it did in Brawl). To clarify, I don't mean stage-only items that show up either.
Shadow?
