To be honest, I'm mostly worried about veteran items getting the shaft to make room.

"It's liberating, realizing you never need to be competent." — UltimatepheerI wouldn't be worried about old items being cut so much, mostly because they brought back the Team Healer.
🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaOther than the Daybreak, Ogre Club, and Reflect Shield, are there more items (and other elements) than that from KIU? Because I feel like a couple of other series' have more items than three...
And the series only has two characters (so far; not including how Dark Pit fits in), so I don't really see the overexposure of KIU yet...
- Drill Arm
- Ore Club
- X-Bomb
- Daybreak
- Back Shield
- Killer Eye
I believe those are all the items, yep yep. I think the items are great, although the overrepresentation arguments have validity in the massive amount of Smash Run enemies.
Why a Boom Stomper over, say, Whomps?
🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaI'm having this same discussion on Smashboards, and I swear, Uprising fans can be as annoying as Bronies sometimes...

Tbh, I haven't had much problems with either Bronies or Uprising fans. I usually find the haters to cause more of a problem.
There is one thing inherited from KI:U that I kind of like though (apart from Palutena and the Daybreaker cannon); when an item is recently dropped, a small icon highlights it like what happens in KI:U. Will definitely be useful on 3DS Smash 4, seeing as it has a lot less screen space
Never had a N64, so never got to play much of Smash 64. Still think it is a good idea they are returning it.

...That's actually from 64.
i'm not happy because Uprising wasn't that important or even that GOOD, but that's just me. I can't speak for everyone else.
It's not "Kid Icarus", it's Uprising only that's getting complaints. And it makes sense. Practically none of the other two games has gotten any real love in the series. I don't expect Myth and Monsters to get any(being America only), but the first game has got practically nothing.
There is definitely way too much bias towards that specific game.
There is a thing called "distribution", or in other words, trying to give each series tons of representation, not just one more than the rest. Not even Pokemon, Mario, Zelda, or Kirby went this far at any time whatsoever. They were near equal with each other at the very least.

Uprising was a big turn for an IP that had been ignored for decades. I don't see how the game that's not only the most recent, but also the one with most content in the trilogy, being represented the most is either unexpected or a bad thing.
"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."The Mario items have been from various games as is, so it's not a good analogy. Even the Pokemon are better distributed among different Generations. Gen 1, 2, and 3 in Brawl(as well as 4) got tons of content as is.
Really, no single game got that much(when they have multiple games in the series) as is. Like... ever. Ice Climber is the only other "single game" and got very little content overall. The extreme bias is pretty annoying, and there's nothing unjustified about being annoyed that one particular game(when two others exist) has gotten an extremely high amount of content. New or not, that's pushing it a bit. I just hope we get some classic KI stuff as is. More than just Trophies alone, that is. Assist Trophies, Smash Run enemies, Regular Items...
Shadow?
Honestly, I agree with that. I always leave the Dragoon off because I don't wanna deal with having the entire match being a fucking chase to get these 3 dumb parts.
Pretty much all of the NES Kid Icarus characters appeared in Uprising, so we're probably gonna get trophies and assist trophies of those too.

There's not an especially large number of things from Kid Icarus to draw from that weren't also featured in Uprising. Even the enemy list made it through almost entirely unscathed- All that was lost was Minos, an enemy that was just a bronze ball that behaved like another enemy anyway.

Because while KIU may be a good game, it's not nearly as important as Sakurai seems to think?
