To be sure we're on the same page, I didn't mean to seriously "correct" your pronoun use or anything, I ... okay actually I'm not sure what I was doing there, but I had fun with it while it lasted, haha.
HAPPY ABOUT ROBIN!
MAN I HOPE I CAN GIVE HER PINK HER BECAUSE NOT ONLY WILL SHE LOOK SIMILAR TO SAILOR LEO'S CHARACTER BUT I CAN BASICALLY PLAY AS LUKA MEGURINE YO YO YO
PARTY ALL UP IN HERE okay yeah I'm gonna go to bed now, good night everyone.
ONE LAST THING, the demo forced me to play as male Robin and I'm so cross with it for that.

Things like "default" genders kinda already means one is favored over the other. And if it was just the official art, I'd agree with you, but it's the way Male Robin was featured for the majority of the trailer (and alongside Lucina) + the official art + Yuusuke Kozaki's art + Sakurai's wordings regarding the female Robin, etc. etc.
Whereas for Miis we were always told that they were of your design and most of the featured Miis were of Nintendo executives and celebrities, so I see no issue in referring to them with a gender neutral pronoun or both male and female pronouns in the first place.

There probably will be, but at the same time I'll point out that there's an even number of Ice Climber combinations but it's pretty clear that Popo leading with Nana following is the default.
I guess I consider Villager's, WFT's, and Robin's "default" genders to be male, female, and male, respectively, but at the same time I really don't care much about gender so this kind of debate is meaningless to me.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! The male is used in those things for the same reason the male character is always favored in promotional material, and I'll leave it at that. Either way, since there's no such bias in Awakening itself, I've always used "they" unless referring to a specific version of them, and I see no reason to treat Awakening's Robin and Smash's Robin as different characters.

And I see no reason why I shouldn't refer to Robin as a male, nor why male is not getting a higher billing than the female. I think we're going to have to disagree on this one.

Fantastic Supreme Überkaiser Emperor Folt of The Infinity and Beyond" ... "The First"!You can use whichever pronoun you want to refer to Robin, since there's a Robin for both.
What isn't cool is saying that someone's wrong for using a particular one.
I'm not saying anyone here has done the latter. Just a good rule to follow.

I have a message from another time...This would all be a moot issue if the English language (and many other languages) didn't have pointless gendered pronouns in the first place.
Regarding DK reps, I do think we'll get a third one. I see both Dixie and Rool having roughly equal chances, personally. Dixie has recent relevancy, while Rool is stupidly popular in Japan. Both have plenty of moveset options.

Only reason I debated it with you is because I find that male Robin getting top billing is as likely as not and I had (and still have) reason to believe so. I do believe Female Robin is getting higher billing than the rest of the other fighters with a gender-choice.

Well no kidding the male's going to be the default, but they're certainly getting closer to equal billing than anyone else.
