It's sure nice to see the not-sword side of Fire Emblem being represented, even though it's not a series I'm really a fan off.
And I sure as hell don't mind the ammount of female representation we're getting here.
Speaking of that, considering how Rayman has a trophy, I wouldn't put it as unlikely to have a trophy of Black Mage and company. I mean, they have even shared games with the Mario folk.

"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."It'd be most appropriate to refer to Robin, Wii Fit Trainer, and Villager as "them" seeing as how it's a perfectly acceptable, gender neutral third person pronoun. There's no need to jump through hoops with anything ridiculous.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!I think I like Robin the same reason I like Mega Man and Olimar- for incorporating gameplay of their home series into Smash.
🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaBut yeah anyway I'm not even entirely sure what that was about, but I get the impression that I'm getting a reputation as some sort of militant feminist, which, haha, sure!
Ironically enough, probably the main reason I'm all about female Robin is because I just think she's super-cute. And with that outfit and everything, too. She's just so pretty. And I'm all about pretty and cute things.
So, on those scans, is it giving Nosferatu as Robin's Down Special, or Down Smash?
Here's a thought. Sakurai said today that the Levin Sword is "activated" by smash attacks. Do you think Robin's non-smash A moves change depending on the currently active sword or tome? I recall seeing what appeared to be a Wind-based jab combo in the trailer, which raises the question: "what is Robin's jab combo if the Wind tome is busted?"
I have a message from another time...For me, I feel that whichever gender came first/is the default is my personal "canon" gender (in a very loose manner), so Villager is a he, while WFT is a she. For Robin and Miis, however, both genders were revealed at around the same time (and both are in their respective renders), so I either avoid pronouns altogether or just refer to them as Robin and Gunner/Brawler/Swordwielder Mii unless referring to a specific gendered Robin or a specific Mii design, like how I go by addressing NiGHTS.

Well, apology accepted.

The only ones I refer by gender-neutral pronouns are Miis. Robin is a male to me, even if the female version is awailable, and he even featured prominently in the trailer. But I've said this before and I'll say it again: What gender pronouns you refer to Robin as makes no difference to me, nor do I care if you refer to him by a different gender pronoun than what I use.

Even in their official art, the male stands prominently in the front, while the female is to the side a little behind the male. On top of that, Yuusuke Kozaki's artwork (the artist for ''Awakening) shows male Robin, but not the female. I think it's clear just which Robin will be the default one.

Also, Robin's mechanic around the tomes kinda reminds me of a potential idea I had if Black Mage got into Smash, predominantly having spells (and in Robin's case, a Levin Sword) and running out of "uses" after which he must wait to recharge, except the Black Mage's resource would be MP while Robin's resources are the various spells and Levin Sword that he has.
